Which therapy helped you the most?
Dopamine
agonists: These are most often the first medicines used to treat RLS. These drugs, including pramipexole (Mirapex), rotigotine (Neupro), and ropinirole (Requip), act like the neurotransmitter
dopamine
in the brain. Side effects include daytime sleepiness, nausea, and lightheadedness.

2019: Will Medicare Cover Parkinson's ?
A dopaminergic medication is a drug that either helps to replace the
dopamine
neurons that are lost or to mimic them. Many doctors prescribe Levodopa because it has proven to be most effective. The part of Medicare that covers this medication depends on how the medicine is administered.

Alternative treatments for RLS.
I know you guys, know your stuff about restless leg syndrome, & may have read this article, but thought it was worth posting for thoughs who have suffered augmentation from
Dopamine
antagonist, & are looking at other treatments rather than opioids.

U.S. TV show Chicago Med.
Upon farther investigation it was discovered she was on a medicine that was a
Dopamine
,not Sinemet, producer and that drug was causing her to hallucinate. The show is your typical hospital/ER drama but they do seem to cover illnesses most shows have never touched.

Thanksgiving and a Question
Why after all the painful stories about
dopamine
meds are doctors still allowed to prescribe them? Why arnt they monitored? Why was I allowed to take so much? Why was I given an 8mg neupro patch at first? Cant we do something about these
dopamine
drugs and the doctors that prescribe them?

Ropinirole withdrawal: is it always agony?
Reports of
dopamine
agonist withdrawal are almost universally negative. But there must be some instances of relatively well-managed experiences. If you have knowledge of such examples, personal or reported, I would be very grateful for notification. Many thanks, Dick Jones.

Taking iron for RLS; Requip better than Mirapex?
It seems that Requip is another
dopamine
agonist, so I don't quite understand why it would be better. Any thoughts on whether Requip is better than Mirapex?

Parkinson’s Disease and Insulin Resistance
Increasing number of studies suggesting that Insulin Resistance negatively impacts
dopamine
functioning in the brain. Parkinson's symptoms, including tremors, stiffness, and slowness of movement, are caused by a lack of
dopamine
in the brain.

Question for nerds
(Low COMT tends to mean higher levels of
dopamine
, and vice versa.)" The placebo research is interesting in itself but what piqued my interest was the correlation of high COMT levels with a low level of
dopamine
and a low susceptibility to the placebo effect.

Datscan for John Pepper
Neck and spinal column at the bottom of the picture - so looking at me from behind (above and behind) I'll translate from the french for you "Scintigraphic examination confirms a net depletion of of the presynaptic
dopamine
receptors, in a bilateral manner but more noticeable on the right.

Finally off Mirapex
Finally off the dreaded
Dopamine
Agonist, Mirapex and I’m suffering like crazy! I don’t even know how much Kratom I’ve taken tonight! I have my ice packs on and they’re not helping. I might as well bite the bullet while I’m sick and suffer through it.

Grateful for this Forum
Because of what I've learned here, I was able to say "no" to my doctor when she suggested I take a
dopamine
agonist. Based on your comments, I've apparently spared myself the agony of "augmentation."

Review of Dr Marty Hinz amino acid protocol for the treatment of Parkinson’s Disease
Tyrosine is the precursor of L- Dopa, which in turn is the precursor of
Dopamine
that is in short supply in PD patients.
Dopamine
is the neurotransmitter that we need for nerve cells to communicate properly.

All Of Me
Really all I know for sure is I’m allergic to phenobarbital, and anything containing
dopamine
magnifies this condition 10 fold. I am now working to get back in to see my local primary neurologist.

An interesting question from my wife
If the problem is lost
dopamine
, why does it tingle my leg one day, and then not the next, but make my arm shake instead? Just for 10 minutes. When I first started researching I came across the description "boutique disease" because no 2 PWP have the same symptoms or progression.
