Secondary RLS, Nexplanon, antidepressants, and iron?
questions (so you don’t have to read this whole thing if you don’t want ;)): -if my RLS is secondary, would i benefit from using a
dopamine
agonist? and if i were to take an SSRI or something like buspar, would i be negatively impacted?

An analysis of drug responses in RLS over a 2 -10 year period showed that 85 percent of RLS patients who started on methadone were still on it compared to less than 20 percent of those started on a
dopamine
drug.

He is still on
dopamine
drugs to help with his mobility but as many folks have mentioned he has reached a tolerance level and we’ve had to experiment with his medical cocktail many times. Long story short, we’re hanging in there but it’s much different now than it was a mere 6 months ago.

Failing test
It was all about brain chemicals such as Norepinephrine, Serotonin,
Dopamine
, BDNF and HGH. At the end of the book he recommends daily exercise and studying something. In the past I was interested in learning Spanish.

6 year old with ADHD and ODD-Child has difficulty receiving compliments
It’s almost as if he wants to prove his defiance and he can’t handle the
dopamine
spike. It makes it difficult to get him to the point of receiving more positive than negative feedback, especially with other adults in his life.

Has anyone used Dipyridamole with effect for RLS?
I read that in 2014 and 2015 , Dr Ferre receieved grants from the RLS Foundation to more closely examine how
dopamine
and glutamate work in the brain.

Has anyone suffered really bad fatigue after brain injury? Does anyone have any advice? X
He is currently taking extra
dopamine
due to damage to his basal ganglia area. I just need a light at the end of the tunnel in terms of the fatigue. Thank you x

I'm new here
Dopamine
agonists definitely out. Horizant apparently not in play because I have lung disease. My doc not amenable to opiodes under any circumstance and I have to say I would be extremely reluctant to go that route. I take clonazapam (0.5 mg) for nocturnal mypclonus since 12 years or so.

Mannitol and Dopamine Levels
He’s had Parkinson’s for 14 years, and at this point any spike in his
dopamine
levels causes hallucinations. If he gets too much he goes into a psychotic state.

Neuronal Death
In the brain, this molecule is converted to the biochemically active
dopamine
by enzymatic decarboxylation.
Dopamine
is then used as a neurotransmitter to stimulate muscular movement.

dopamine
-and-serotonin-play-key-role-in-perception-cognition-study-finds/ This study is useful for theory, but doesn't seem to indicate any action for PwP. Things known about serotonin not in this article. Lack of sleep causes deficiency in serotonin.

Amantadine for fatigue/spasms
Amantadine increases levels of
dopamine
in your brain.
Dopamine
, the feel-good neurotransmitter. I could do with some of that. I feel nicely alert, and it's dialed down my spasms (though time will tell on those). https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4252198/
