Immune to Isosorbide ?
During an unscheduled night in A&E (false alarm in the end) the attending junior? cardiologist thought I might be immune to my prescribed Isosorbide mononitrate dose (2x20mg daily) no action was taken at that time and I was discharge with no fault found (again) I'm scheduled to see the team as an out

Can anyone make use of residue dialysis support materials?
I supported my son-in-law at our home during his dialysis. He's had his operation and is recovering. I now have plenty of his support fluids, needles etc at my home. Is there any organisation that will make use of the following, much of which is still sealed. 12 box SAK402; 1 box BD Plastipak; 2 box

Decision time on Tuesday morning after progression shown in scans
hi all, My husband has spent the last two months on Zytiga rechallenge after 5 rounds of docetaxel. He has had increased hip and back achiness, not severe pain. last month I thought with PSA jump from 45 to 57 that onc would change therapies, but he felt we could continue at that time with the zytiga

Dads Full blood count. Any advise please for Vitamins/minerals
Dad is 76, we already know that his T4/T3 is low. No diagnosis of Thyroid issues. He has Alzheimer’s for the last 10yrs but it is progressing very very slowly and when I quizzed my mum she said there were no lesions as far as she knew and the last scan made the consultant frown because he was expecting

Minimal Change Disease and Diet
I was diagnosed with MCD about 15 years ago. I relapsed several times, and my creatinine levels kept rising. At my worst I had a GFR of 14. I was already on a low sodium diet. It was suggested to me that I try removing as much animal protein out of my diet as possible. When I made this change, I

I was interested to see this morning's news [1] because it has a bearing on a point I was recently trying to make (unsuccessfully). It's not uncommon to find someone on a cancer site claim that cancer hates oxygen. 'If only we could get more oxygen to the cancer it would die.' PCa is not at all inconvenienced

Let's Start Again - a tale of Woe
After finishing my first 3 days on week 1, way back in Feb, ..I told my doc, I had some chest pains, as they tell us to report. Not severe I hasten to add, I thought they were probably caused by using muscles that had been dormant for too many years.... However, at the end of W1, they had gone..woopi

How do I get better care?
I have coronary artery disease strong family history - high cholesterol- had 3 stents put in 2017 in a midland hospital after which I felt excruciating constant pain like somebody was turning a knife in my chest - in the hospital I was given paracetamol for the pain and nothing else I would sleep for

Wind pain but no diarrhoea
I have ibs D this is something that plays up everyday but recently it’s been getting better but my stomach pains r making it hard to stand up straight. I think it’s trapped wind but it’s been almost 20 hours and the pain is just as bad, doing a 9 hour shift at work is stressful enough without the added

Intestine resection surgery
Thirty-seven years ago I had intestine resection surgery because of Crohn’s disease. Recently I had an endoscopy and a colonoscopy. There were no signs of Crohn’s or colitis. Still I have symptoms of Crohn’s. Because of the shorting of the intestinal tract I have persistent diarrhea. Imodium AD helps

Questions for anyone who suffered acid rebound effect after PPI use, and eventually was free from acid reflux?
I could write a book about my experiences with this condition, but I'll try to be as concise as possible to keep you from getting bored halfway through! After various stomach problems (constipation / diarrhea, and later on stomach pains / cramps) for about a year, that my doctor speculates are IBS-related
