Every move I make leaves a visible cloud of skin flakes floating behind me. I didn't know a person could shed enough skin to turn your dark colored underwear white and have an actual cloud float around you.. You can after 9 cycles of Chemo. Two weeks into this cycle and I'm just starting to function again. Back to work yesterday and out again at 2230 tonight. Still weak, but vision back to normal. Most of the knives are out of my belly too. Guess 9 is my limit.

With you, brother. I’m on 5th if 6 cycles. I’ve had watery eyes, runny nose, unproductive cough, nasty rash, dizziness and the usual fatigue and aches but no flaking. Don’t think I could last for 9 rounds. Hang in there.

Shooter: sorry to hear your reacting and suffering with skin issues. Google skin changes with chemotherapy & radiation, and you’ll find a couple of sites addressing your issue, one under the national cancer institute and the other the Canadian cancer society. In a nutshell, as I recall, chemotherapeutic drug development got its start after WW1 following the introduction to human beings of mustard gas development and exposure. This stuff was designed to cripple the soldiers with carcinogenic agents and if you look up skin symptoms due to mustard gas exposure, it’s similar to what you describe your experiencing, blistering of the skin , etc. Bottom line is this poison ( dosetaxel) can overwhelm the bodies ability to eliminate it, hence the skin changes, and you can also react allergically to it as well. I am no specialist in this field but I am a doc., - retired chiropractor-+ Your oncologist should be able to help you with this issue. The skin system is huge when it comes to shedding poisons. It’s quite common for this stuff to exit the body through the skin in the form of boils and pustules and blisters that all have a common thread here. Good luck, Stan AZ
