Ureteral cytosis
Started Jevtana in August hoping for more moderate side effects and efficacy than I'd had with three prior rounds of
Docetaxel
. First Jevtana round was without carboplatin. Second Jevtana round had carboplatin included.

Invitro study shows Delta Tocotrienol overcomes Docetaxel resistence in PCa
Evaluating the combined effect of δ-TT and
docetaxel
(DTX), we found that δ-TT potentiates DTX cytotoxicity in DU145 cells. Moreover, δ-TT induces cell death in DU145 cells that have developed DTX resistance (DU-DXR) activating necroptosis.

Docetaxel Update
Prior to starting
Docetaxel
, my PSA was 23.6; after 3 rounds, my PSA is 10.7; a decline of 12.9! Yes, the SE are BAD. I have lost all of my hair. My fingernails are discolored, lifting off and sore. I have aches and pains, I can’t walk well because my balance sucks. Food does not always stay down.

Now my cancer is now under control, my wife no longer wants to be with me.
I went straight on Casodex and 2 years of Eligard shots. 9 rounds of
Docetaxel
, kidney stents and VMAT radiation therapy. Following my last PET scan, no new growth was evident and my PSA has been under 1.0 for the last 18 months.

Could this be the start of neuropathy?
I had my first
Docetaxel
infusion 6 days ago. Due to the Dexamethasone before and the Prednisone since, I have been really well. In the gym most days, and eating really well. I have had no side effects - until today. It's a minor thing, but both thumbs are a little sore.

Surviving in retirement
At 66 my PSA was 3400 with Gleason score 4 ; started
Docetaxel
and Jevtana until July 23 ; Now on Pluvicto have 5 more treatments to go. Some bone pain and weakness in legs from chemo; but getting stronger slowly.

Docetaxel and Excessive Tearing
Hi Gents, I have been experiencing excessive tearing as a SE from
Docetaxel
. I have an appointment with an ophthalmologist, but it’s over one month away. If you have experienced this SE, what helped the issue? All I am doing now are warm compresses and Vaseline around my eyes for dry skin.

Chemo with Docetaxel - side effects
Was all the way down to 2.9 day of second
Docetaxel
infusion. 64 years old and good health except for the MPC. My question is about the
Docetaxel
side effects. After infusion #1, I took nausea medicine for a couple days as a precaution but never felt sick. Days 5 thru 10 I had dry mouth.

Castration resistant in just a year? Normal or not? Provenge in my future.
Nubeqa and
Docetaxel
(Triplet therapy) started 9 months ago, and finished chemo 4.5 months ago. Still on Lupron and Nubeqa. Most of what I've read on doctor google says mCRPC takes 2-3 years to develop. Is that accurate in the group's experience. Am I just "lucky?"

chemo re challenge
He had good response to this 5 years ago- much better than
docetaxel
or jevtana. I’m wondering your thoughts about whether this could be effective again.. it has been 5 years but has other treatments and progression created significant resistance? Thanks in advance

Still true that using same scan type is preferable to changing scan type?
He's been stable since chemo with his current Eligard & Xgeva treatment--see full Profile for his record of Lupron, radiation, Zytiga (failed),
Docetaxel
at year five, followed by lifelong Eligard and quarterly Xgeva.

Nicardipine, a calcium channel blocking blood pressure lowering drug has shown anti prostate cancer properties in preclinical studies
As a combination regimen, nicardipine synergistically enhanced the in vivo efficacy of
docetaxel
against C4-2 xenografts.

New Developments in My Husband's PCA Journey
I am also wondering if radiation is not the most optimal treatment, then why not add a 6 week cycle of
Docetaxel
to the mix of ADT.? This would be considered triplet therapy (Stampede trial).

Docetaxel and discolored nails
I have never worn nail polish, but
Docetaxel
is really discoloring my nails. This is a fun way to cover up the problem. Since starting
Docetaxel
on 31 March, my PSA had dropped 6.6 points!

Pluvicto does not work better if used before docetaxel in mCRPC
More information on optimal sequencing - it doesn't matter which is used before the other in chemo-naive men who are metastatic and castration-resistant (mCRPC). https://www.prostatecancer.news/2023/09/pluvicto-does-not-work-better-if-used.html

Swollen Legs after Chemo
I just finished ten rounds of
Docetaxel
for stage 4 PC. At around the 8th cycle, I noticed my legs and ankles were swollen. Now that I’ve completed the chemo, the legs/ankles are still swollen and feel very tight and heavy. My thighs have also ballooned in size.
