Options when Docetaxel stops working
He has done 14 sessions of the
Docetaxel
and does not want anymore. He is very weak. I am not sure why the doctor would want to keep him on
Docetaxel
when it does not appear to be working. Many thanks for any information!

What to do?
Hi All, At the end of August 2023 I completed 8 rounds of
docetaxel
. On 9/13/23 my PSA was 5.7, 10/30/23 8.25 and 11/27/23 it’s now 16.72. This year has been a shit show. I know my MO will put me on pluvicto. Here’s my quandary: I am a single gay man. Parents gone. No siblings.

Finished 8 Rounds of Docetaxel
Hi Fellow Warriors, Four weeks ago I finished up 8 rounds of
Docetaxel
. This year has been a medical shit show: 2 UTIs, pneumonia, Covid, sepsis, sinus infection which became chronic sinusitis, numerous falls with the last fall resulting in a dislocated hip. The good news!

I also had chemo with
docetaxel
from December 2021 for about 18 weeks. PSA fell from a high of about 60 to a low of about 8 over that time period. Genetic testing ordered by the Mayo has determined that I'm a candidate for Olaparib, and I expect to discuss this at my consultation with Dr.

- After 6 cycles of chemotherapy with
docetaxel
and ADT-ELIGARD with PET 2 and PET 3 show a rapid decrease in the size of the lymph nodes and their emission of SUV, as well as the disappearance of several of them, a rapid decrease in the size of the prostate and SUV.

PSA rockets up to 344
As noted in my previous postings, I had chemo with
docetaxel
in 2022, when PSA started at 62 ng/ml and fell to 8 ng/ml after six cycles. I started chemo with cabazitaxel in July 2023 when PSA was 83, and as reported above it had fallen to 3.6 by November 2023.

Where do I go for alternative to continuous ADT?
Began triplet therapy in April: Eligard shot every 3 months, Nubequa daily, and 6 rounds of
docetaxel
. SE's have been mild. I want to an alternative to continuous ADT, whether its IADT, BAT or something else, in hopes of preventing castration resistance. I live on the East Coast of U.S.

Overwhelmed, what do I do next? Mutations In my Germline & a Tier 1 ATM Frameshift Alteration
More
docetaxel
than a PARP inhibitor (medical oncologist does Not mention PARPi at all) or do I change hormone therapy Or My medical oncologist seems hot on the throttle to do Lu 177 which with my mutations, may not be a good idea, as not much seems to be known how Lu 177 reacts in men with both

Long Journey
Next up, in 2023, I was hoping to start to do a lot of travel, instead I had 8 rounds of
docetaxel
. The S/E were not fun. Chemo failed. A new PSMA PET indicated mets to more bones and lymph nodes; PSA was rising quickly. I started Pluvicto a couple of weeks ago. The S/E are bad.

Genetic testing and Second Opinion – A result!
Following on from my post last week about
docetaxel
not working, I had a frank conversation with my MO during which I said I strongly believe that genetic testing of my liver biopsy sample should be the next step and after some debate, to my surprise, he agreed and has put through the request.

Newly diagnosed metastatic PC treatment options
Should I also start chemotherapy with
docetaxel
? And/or should I also start RT for the prostate and the 4 spots in the bones? Would proton therapy be advisable? I will be very grateful for any input.

Sudden onset of severe leg pain
He's had 3 treatments of
docetaxel
. b) Caused by the disease itself? He's had ZERO incidents of this kind of pain so far. His PSA has dropped with the chemo treatments (142 -> 57 -> 47) - wouldn't that possibly correlate to reduced tumor activity and less pain?

PSA in lower range, yet PSMA PET SCAN shows diffuse bone Metastasis
He was given one infusion of
Docetaxel
, however, he has been weaned off due to adverse reactions he has had, as his overall condition worsened and he had lot of prolonged mouth sores, with WBCs touching .08 and besides, he just could not sustain the after effects and was similar to in an ICU like condition

Can I drive myself to/from Docetaxel chemo treatments?
My wife is recovering from Pneumonia and has very little energy. I'm 60 and in good shape, so should I be able to drive myself?

PSA still low but cancer progressing
The MO has said I need to stop Xtandi since it isn't working and move on to
Docetaxel
. I had a biopsy today of one of the groin (lymph) lesions which will be tested to check if
Docetaxel
is the right type of chemo to have.

Elevated D-Dimmer
His last round of
Docetaxel
( 8 in total). However, his d-dimmer is started to get elevated. He has been using Xarelto, but in the last 2 weeks D-Dimmer went from 3600 to 4500 and we started Fraxeparine 0.4 , 2 times a day. He is 90+Kg of weight. Unfortuanately after 7 days his D-dimmer is 6000.
