"breaks the blood brain barrier" scares me
Docetaxel
scrambled my brain effectively but does not "break the blood brain barrier". Is this a cause for concern? All best, Baltha

Medication side effects or bone metastasis pain?
I had only mild pain with
docetaxel
mostly in my feet and shoulder but it went away within 4 months of completing chemotherapy.

High Dose Melatonin
I have been on 20 mgs per night for 10 years .Now upped it to 60 mgs x 4 times a day .This to offset
Docetaxel
for first time and result is no side affects from the Chemo .Will be doing scans in two weeks to see if metastasis has slowed ,currently in bone but no soft tissue involvement .

2/3 of the way through docetaxel
Doc recommends staying the course on
Docetaxel
as ALP seems to indicate some progress. Hubby feels pretty good once he's through the first week after infusion. Pain is still manageable but never diminishes, only increases.

Update to Can't treat what we can't see
Following is from the After Visit Summary: We discussed a recommendation for enzalutamide at this point - while it may have a lower response rate compared to
docetaxel
, especially after progression on abiraterone therapy, the toxicity of
docetaxel
is significantly greater, especially in the context

Peripheral Neuropathy and how to live with it
Hi All, I finished 6 cycles of chemotherapy (
Docetaxel
) in October 2019 and have had Peripheral Neuropathy ever since. For about the first 7-9 months I suffered the usual sharp pains in my feet (like they were being stabbed) and electric shock type pains as well.

To treat or not to treat: is it acceptable to avoid active therapies in advanced prostate cancer today?
This evidence of improved life expectancy does not support avoiding the addition of
docetaxel
or ARTAs to ACCEPTED MANUSCRIPT ADT in mHSPCa patients. 2.2 Disease-related factors for decision making Two main factors should be considered when defining the risk/benefit ratio of adding

How long can docetaxel work after treatment with abiraterone
Probably about to start
docetaxel
. I realize that everyone responds differently, but how long can I expect it to work after Zytiga has already failed?

Results from Foundation One Cdx, IHC, Neuroendocrine tests
My husband tried and failed on Zytiga, chemo (
docetaxel
), Zytiga, Lu177 and now trying Xtandi before moving on to cabazitaxel and possibly with Xofigo but Im not sure if I can source this one out in Singapore because its not available here in the Philippines.

Saw my Oncologist today, not good news.
I will have a PET scan next week and week after that if blood numbers okay he will start me on Chemo (
Docetaxel
) again, I asked if I was running out of options and he said 'yes' as the cancer is finding its way around whatever's been thrown at it, he is hopeful with the Chemo as first round got my PSA

Happy Last Chemo Day!
My wonderful, loving husband, Steve, will have his final
Docetaxel
treatment today, Dec. 3rd. Yay! As those of you who have been down the chemo road know, it hasn't been a picnic so he's happy to see this day finally arrive.

Balance issues and other things
I am on Firmagon and finished 5 rounds of
Docetaxel
. I have mets on the left side of my skull. I am hoping these things are side effects of the meds and not things intruding into my brain. I get occasional pain on the left side of my head. Of course being stage 4, every pain and symptom worry me.

Next Step Docetaxel after Abiraterone & Xtandi failed.
Our next step is
Docetaxel
starting soon. I asked the doctor if after chemo he would try ADT again. He told us it wouldn't work again. It seems that I've read on this site that it can be reintroduced with success after chemo. Has anyone here had any experience with that?

Not a candidate for the CAR-T trial. Should I pursue cabozantinib here in the USA or look abroad for LU-177?
Of course you need to have the PSMA receptor for this to be effective but I hear some really good regression is a number of men who have castration resistance and who have failed
docetaxel
. Any thoughts brothers?

When to start xtandi after docetaxel?
Father just finished 6 rounds of
docetaxel
, 9 Glisson, diagnosed in may 2020. Mets in the bones and spine. The original PSA was 135, now 0.7. Gets Lupron and Zometa. Should he start taking Xtandi now, or wait for the PSA to start rising? Opinions of different oncologists were divided. Thanks
