White count lower 3 1/2 weeks after final chemo than 1 week after - WTF?
Had my 6th & final chemo (
docetaxel
) on Oct 24; one week later my WBC was 3.1. Previous 1 week post chemo white counts were in the 5 - 6 range. Been self injecting with Ziextenzo (bioequivalant to Neulasta) a day after each round. Not sure why didn't come back up at one week like previous rounds.

Side Effects of Docetaxel vs Cabazitaxel
Been at this for over 6 years now, diagnosed at stage 4 and ever since on ADT, plus 6 cycles of
Docetaxel
, Abiraterone and Enzalutamide. Looks like its time for Cabazitaxel. My doctor is recommending that as the next treatment.

67 yo dad with stage 4 PC
He has started hormone therapy with Degarelix and already received his first round of chemo
Docetaxel
. He will be doing 5 more rounds of chemo every 2 weeks and then reviewed further to see how he is responding. His oncologist’s notes read - intent of treatment is palliative and non curative.

PSA Rising after 5 years
I was originally treated with ADT upfront followed by 6 rounds of
Docetaxel
and radiation to the prostate. I believe this treatment was based on the Charted and Stampede trials. My testosterone is still 0.1 nmol/L. This means I am still castrate sensitive.

Update on my father. Triplet therapy?
The MO gave us the treatment plan of - Casodex, Zoladex, Chemo (
Docetaxel
) and radiation therapy after that. With the help of this site, I know that early Chemo (6 rounds) is important.

Got my genomic analysis - sounds like there are possibilities?
I'm high volume metastatic cancer, currently on Lupron, had to stop abiraterone due to liver numbers off, & had 1st
Docetaxel
chemo a week ago. Sounds like Keytruda could be beneficial as immunotherapy. Possibly concurrent with
docetaxel
? What should I get out of these results?

Should he take the Lupron?
The good news is that the response to radiation response and
docetaxel
is excellent (78 and 75 out of 100, respectively) and the doctor was pleased about it. It sucks.

So yesterday I started my first treatment with a combination of
docetaxel
to hit the plain old prostate cells and carboplatin to try to push back on the neuroendocrine component. So far so good. I included a biopsy photo for fun.

I am stage 4 HSPCa, to the bone and lymph and on Lupron, Nubeqa at present after (6)
Docetaxel
, and Lupron. I am one of those that believes the use of many bullets is necessary to wound and slow the beast. Thought this might be low risk possibility. Has anyone had any experience with this drug?

What next after Enzalutamide and Docetaxel?
After 8 cycles of
Docetaxel
I'm seeing my oncologist to consider the next steps. So I wondered what other patients thought would be the logical next step to deal with this disease? Are there any new UK trials? I hope this is not the end of the road!

Quality of Life vs. Extending Survival
For example, it has been recently demonstrated that addition of
docetaxel
chemotherapy early for APC does not measurably extend overall survival in the long term. Undergoing 6 cycles of the chemo takes about 4 months.

Decision time – looking for opinions/advice please
Start Chemo (
Docetaxel
) There is a fourth option that I would need to self-fund which is to start a course of Lu-177. His advice is to go with option 2.

Eyes watery during Docetaxel treatment
Hello, I got 5
docetaxel
infusions, and now I have excessive tearing in both eyes. I know that this tearing is one of multiple side effects of
docetaxel
. I would appreciate if you could recommend how to manage this new for me problem. Thank you, Bob

Neutropenia after 1st chemo
So my CBC is back 1 week post 1st
Docetaxel
chemo. My WBC is 0.8 (normal range is 3.4 - 10.8) and Neutrophils (absolute) is 0.1 (normal is 1.4 - 7). Waiting to hear from M.D. but are these numbers a source for worry? No fever or any issues.

Is this a PSA flare caused by chemo?
My husband's PSA was 99 on 14 June and he had first
Docetaxel
infusion on 17 June. On 4 July, his PSA is 216. Is this a flare to be expected? If yes, when might we see a decline? Thanks

Seeing the < sign!
I know it’s all about stability but still after 7 months of Degarelix, 3 x Lu-177, 3 x
Docetaxel
, 20 VMAT rounds , 2 brachytherapy’s and 1 month of Apalutamide it was a good day! Feel like I should have ended that list with ‘and a partridge in a pear tree’! It’s been a mad 7 months!

Dad, 66 w/ de novo high volume castrate sensitive PC. Started on ADT
I have heard so much about
docetaxel
being beneficial in combination with ADT and feel like I have seen some people who were in worse shape who were able to do it. I’m just wondering is maybe I am mistaken/ am missing something else that would make him a poor candidate?
