Will Estradiol 0.025 patch for hot flushes cause cancer to come out of hiding?
Hi My husband has been taking Effexor for hot flushes and it does not seem to be effective any longer . He increased the dose from 37.5 to 75 mg and that did not seem to make a difference. He has been off Effexor now and the oncologist is saying to try the low dose Estradiol patch . To be honest we

PSA rockets up to 344
Hello - I received quite shocking news during my visit to the Mayo Clinic last week. My PSA has jumped to 344 from a low of 3.6 last November, when I completed chemo with cabazitaxel. PSA did start to rise quite soon, into double digits, but this is by far my highest PSA ever. Dr. Kwon recommended

Kishan's 6 month Androgen Annihilation Therapy Study for metastatic PCa
https://x.com/prostatecell/status/1770206641813696808?s=46 https://bit.ly/43rr68x seems to be a promising tactic for oligometastatic PCa, that combines SBRT with an ADT mix . The Abstract starts off by noting that with metastatic hormone sensitive PCa, recurrence almost always happens within six months

CTC circulating tumor cell count
I haven’t seen too much mention of CTC tests when PSA rises. Some rises at very low levels are not clearly correlated or confirmed by PET scans. So why isn’t CTC used, too expensive, inaccurate, most men lack a baseline test? Just curious if anyone tests this and what their experience has been

PSA Still Going Up
I had RP on January 2023, started ADT in May 2023 and went through 38 sessions of radiation. In November 2023, my PSA went down to 0.005 ng/mL. My PSA went up to 0.015 ng/mL in January 2024 and went up to 0.035 ng/mL in my current test. I know Tall Allen said the previous number was negligible because

Cancer returned.
Back in 2006 I was diagnosed with Prostate cancer with a PSA of 17, treatment was 20 sessions of radiotherapy followed by Zoladex implant every 3 months for 3 years, my PSA then dropped to 0.10. There it remained until 2011 when it went up to 0.40. From then until 2018 it varied between 0.40 and 0.71

PSA 8 months after EBRT
I need some reassurance. I tend to worry a little bit so please let me know if the following is or could be somewhat normal. As per my history, I had 4+3 per Dr. Epstein, had Pylarify with no mets, seed implant LD brachytherapy in July 2023, EBRT 28 treatments finishing first of Oct 2023. RO said ADT

Falling ALT - Pathway to Sarcopenia? - More Exercise Needed?
Two years in to my de novo high volume metastatic prostate cancer diagnosis, I am pleased to report excellent results so far with triplet therapy (Docetaxel chemo completed, Abiraterone ARPI, Firmagon/Degarelix GnRH antagonist as ADT). However I would be grateful for any advice today.

Could This Alternative Regiment Be Decelerating My PSA?
Between Summer of 2021 and Summer of 2023--two solid years--my PSA went from 11.5 to 15.3, roughly two points per year. Having concern about my PSA, I ventured into a more "aggressive anti-prostate cancer diet," centered around legumes/black, purple, wild rices/walnuts/flaxseed/tomato paste

Best alternative PET for PSMA negative PCa
Asking for a friend. He was diagnosed 3 years ago with high risk high volume (Gleason 3+5) PCa. Treated with EBRT + LDRBT + ADT (18 months). His PSA was undetectable but is now rising (3+) but PSMA-PET was negative, even in the prostate - implying PSMA non-avid cancer. What would be the best non-PSMA

Antihistamines for hot flushes
De Novo Gleason 9 plus 16 bone Mets diagnosed August 2022 at age 78. Commenced quarterly goserelin injections and PSA became unmeasurable. Side effects fatigue plus hot flushes roughly hourly day and night plus increased night urination. GP prescribed antihistamine which we agreed on as 10 mg Cetirizine

ADT failure
We saw my Dad's MO on 5/23. Over the course of 4 weeks my dad's PSA moved from 1.46 to 2.14, He said we need to be on Zytiga for three months before we can deem it a failure, but just like Xtandi, it appears my dad had limited help with it. We have talked about the next steps, chemo and pluvicto. My

Hypogonadism, heat flushing, and testosterone replacement
Hi all, It is almost a year since I had my external beam radiation for Gleason 7 (3+4) PCa (see my profile). So far so good: 4 PSA tests were reassuringly low. I am now almost 82 and I am hoping to deal with my strange heat-flushing problem, which I have had for several years. It predates my cancer

Time to adjust my course, any suggestions?
Psa is on a steady increase again. I was taking extandi for a year up until 11 /23 over that yr my Psa had dropped from 29, 11/22 to 1.4 ,11/23. I was having significant SEs, brain fog mainly so I decided to switch to nubeqa (daralutimide) even tho there was a steady drop in PSA on extandi. Nubeqa
