Can PSMA-PET scan be used off label?
I have a friend who has had multiple MRIs and biopsies to locate his presumed prostate cancer. His PSA is high, around 20 but fluctuates and this has gone on for a number of years. He had antibiotic therapy but this did not make any difference. I was wondering if a doctor would prescribe a PET/ PSMA

"Undetectable"
We hear the term of "undetectable" with a psa of < .1 used so often. When I was first diagnosed and had an RALP I bought into the use of this theory. As the months clicked by and I was "undetectable" I was slowly gaining confidence and reassurance that this was true. Eight months later a .1 shattered

My discussion with chatGPT about senescence in PC induced by radiation and chemotherapy.
Q. Can adt cause senescence? A. Androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) primarily aims to reduce or block male hormones like testosterone that fuel prostate cancer growth. While ADT can significantly shrink tumors and lead to remission in many cases, it does not directly cause cellular senescence. However

Lost my lovely Dad 48 hours ago....want to thank you all.
Dad had another spinal cord compression at C2. PSA at this point was 3700. Radiotherapy was out of the question; having had treatment there before. Came home from hospital, and we tried desperately to take him to Istanbul for Lu177. We even booked the tickets. Sadly, 24 hours later, he deteriorated

Lupron 12 vs. 18 Months
This is a follow-up to a post I made in January of this year. I was diagnosed at age 50, Gleason score 3+4 (10% pattern 4), highest PSA of 10.1, high-risk Decipher 0.84, PI, and some evidence of ECE. I was PSMA-negative. I started Lupron and was treated at UCLA in late October 2023 with SBRT on the MRIdian

What clinic trials have been successful?
My husband's next oncologist appointment is tomorrow. PSA is at 74. It has been a roller coaster ride since March 2017. Prostate removed with many complications in hospital. Was there for 2 weeks, which should have been 2 days. Was weak for several months after. Follow up appointment 3 months later

How fast?
I have a serious question for the group. How fast does Prostate Cancer progress? Letās use two scenarios. Intermediate unfavorable to aggressive. The reason I ask why is because Iām seeing men diagnosed with PSAās in the 500ās to 1000ās & incidentally it was found through a routine blood testā with

Comparing PSA Response With Apalutamide vs Enzalutamide in mCSPC

lupron vacation
Iāve been on lupron now for three and a half years. My PSA has been undetectable since last November. I asked my OC about going on a lupron vacation and he said it would be fine now to try it. Just wondering if any of you have experienced this and how long before you had to go back on lupron. Iām 16

I am having a slight pain in the area where the rib is located. My PSA has gone down to .26 so itās moving

Intravenous C
I was reading this short report (our BAT friends are involved) thinking it showed real promise for C, then in conclusion they say no. Agreed the p values are high, the CIs are wide, but the results were so lopsided that to me it merely means the trial was underpowered and C is worth a try. High-Dose

Reason for a 2nd Opinion of your Prostate Biopsy Report .
As the resuly of my rising PSA of 7.3 , I have been on Dutasteride for 4 yars for BPH , I proceeded to have a Tesla 3.0 Prostate MRI which showed an increased T2 Signal plus a PI - RADS 5 . highly suspicious of cancer . Following a 5 Core Transperineal MRII Fusion Biopsy ( All cores in the target
