Betablockers and BP medication
Currently on Bisoprolol 10 mg and Digoxin, with no problems. Had a blood test yesterday and nurse also took BP, which was high. I take my BP at home and it was fine that morning and has been for a very long time. I am a repeat offender white coat syndrome sufferer, so no great surprise. In about

Pacemaker
Well, I've just come home from a week in hospital. I went on Monday last for an echocardiogram and EP kept me in when he looked at the results then & there. I was in the throes of a prolonged & severe bout of AF, 72 hours unceasing, and he was very concerned about it. Upshot is, I'm going to have a pacemaker

Attacks while on flecenaide
I am taking 50 mg flecenaide twice per day, and I have never had an attack since starting this medication. My excellent cardiologist suggested that I combine this rhythm control medication with rate control, even though my heart rate is currently low, averaging between 50-60. His reason is that if you

Digoxin use in Modern Medicine
This is on the Medscape site and could be of interest to anyone taking digoxin or anyone to whom a doctor recommends taking it. It seems this drug should be used with extra caution, especially the older the person is. http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/842364_8

AF
The EP told me yesterday, that here where we live in West Somerset, there are 12,000 people with AF and millions more who don't even know they've got it! Amazing, isn't it. He rubbished Digoxin, said it was no more than a sugar pill, so took me off them. He said Flecainide affected different people different

Tablet change to Ambulatory Care
Today was my appointment 13:30 at the Ambulatory Care Unit. As usual it is as far away as it can be! Get to the desk and give my name and was told to sit in a room and wait. All sorts of people in there with all sorts of ailments for them to look at and deal with. The room was warm but stuffy but the

Consultant changes his mind again!
Well had another appointment with the Lung specialist again. Started with the usual weigh-in BP and Finger O2 it lit up at 95% so she writes it down but then it started to drop down to 92%. Then says It is my first day on here! So I said "It is usual to let the O2 monitor settle down for a few seconds

Digoxin Latest.
I don't want to be scaremongering but I take Digoxin among other medication for permanent A/F and these reports about studies into the safety of the drug seem to be appearing every 6 to 12 months and none of them make good reading for anybody taking it. The E.P. I was seeing put me on it and at my

AF concerns
I have just had my 53rd birthday and have had diagnosed AF since 2009 although I suspect I was suffering for some years prior to the diagnosis. I was deemed an unsuitable case for abalation and have since gone into persistant AF. I am taking 10 mg bisoprolol daily and 70mg aspirin, I was taking digoxin

Lesson learned - I hope
My usual regime is to take all my meds in the morning: Levothyroxine before breakfast, Rivaroxaban, Bisoprolol and Digoxin straight after. On Sundays our routine is different and not for the first time, I forgot yesterday. During the course of the day, I heard some bad news about a relative. I did

Candesartan
Good morning all, I am taking candesartan 8mg, bisopropol and digoxin. I have had a bronchial cough for about three months and think it is due to the medication, candesartan in particular. Has anyone else had this problem. If so, was the medication changed. I was previously on Ramipril which gave

Feeling breathless
Feeling very breathless. I've got to get the pace maker tested on the 16/2/2015 then see the consultant on the 26th . I'm booked in to have the cardioversion at the end of March. I can't remember feeling so rotten the last time that my AF lasted this long. Has anyone else had problems with pace makers
