Still no sign of a cardiologist
I wrote about 2 months ago concerning my visit to the hospital and the fact that I didn't get to see 'my' cardiologist. I had many replies which were very supportive and agreeing that I should have seen the cardiologist and not the cardiac nurse at the hospital who was unable to make a decision herself

Ablate and pace
I've been offered this procedure by Papworth hospital to control my AF although I understand that it would control rate but not the rhythm. I could stop digoxin immediately but would still need warfarin and maybe bisopropol, at least for a time. I'm hesitating as there would be no going back, given that

I was diagnosed with paroxysmal a few months ago and Doc has me on Metoporol 25 mg twice a day and a daily aspirin. A previous Doc had me on Digoxin and Flecannaide and those 2 caused me lots of problems so went for a second opinion and I am doing much better now. I was taking Lisinopril 25 mg twice

My latest misjudgement
felt very strange after a few hours of taking first Digoxin. Was in a brain-fog which continued to get worse and I felt ill. Decided to stop it as felt I was being poisoned. At next appointment saw different cardiologist (never see same one) He doubled dose of Bisoprolol 10mg and I became a zombie, no

Ideas on purchasing drugs cheaper outside of the system
Does anyone know a cheaper way to purchase Pradaxa as I did not realize my Kaiser plan did not include prescription drugs and it costs $156 for a one month supply. also the Digoxin costs $112 for 3 month supply. My cardiologist was really upset about it. I just started on the drugs.....I have refused

Hospital visit today
I've just returned from my visit to the Cardiology Department at my local hospital. At no time did I see a Cardiologist. A very lovely Nurse Practitioner took all my details and read my ECG print out and then trotted off to see the Consultant. She returned and offered me a cardioversion, but I would

Medication shortfall before appointment
My husband is seeing the cardiologist on Friday afternoon. However, all his medication that he was given on leaving hospital a month ago (Bisopralol, Apixaban, Digoxin, Spironolactone, Ramipril) all run out on Thursday morning. Does it matter that much for a few hours, assuming we will be able to get

First hospital visit
I have my first appointment with the Cardiology Department on Wednesday. I've looked up the name of the Consultant and she specialises in 'General cardiology with interest in pacing , arrhythmia, heart failure, syncope'. I know the chances of meeting her are remote, but I suppose at least it will

Day 6 Post Ablation
Firstly thank you for your support it has been very valuable. My low blood pressure and fast irregular heart rate go hand in hand. Verapamil = lower blood pressure Ablation = lower blood pressure with faster heart rate which lowers blood pressure more 88/66 is really bad especially when you have

Is 75 the cut off age to be offered an ablation ?
I don't feel very happy this morning after an appointment with my cardiologist. I was diagnosed as having intermittent A/F and atrial flutter, that was just over 3 years ago, it was pick up at a routine ECG prior to having a hernia operation. I tried various drugs until a suitable combination/quantity

Cardioversion
I am very disappointed. I had cardioversion last week and went back into sinus rhythm and was so happy and felt great but this morning I flipped back into AF. I am on 50mg x 2 flecanide, 125 mg of digoxin and 200mg dilitiazem and 20mg of the new rivaroxiban. I had a successful cardioversion in 2012 for

Medication overload
I am a relative newcomer to AF, diagnosed as persistent in May. I was prescribed 1.25 Bisoprolol by GP. This was increased to 5 mg in July by cardio. He also put me on 1.25 ramipril, digoxin and apixaban. The Bisop was reduced to 2.5 by GP. As my BP hit the floor. I want to stop taking Ramipril

The 40 ton truck that is AF!
Went to see my GP on Thursday and feel like I have been hit by a truck. I am still spread eagled on the front clinging on for dear life! Didn't really have much chance to ask questions as I was shocked. The results of a recent ECG show a rate of between 100 - 175, so the slozem has not been working.

Meds, cardioversion, ablation
At what point do most people decide to have an ablation? I have been in af for a month now since a local hospital took me off flecanide. I am on diltiazem and digoxin and still out of rhythm. My cardiologist is now putting me back on flecanide and if that doesn't put me into sinus rhythm he is going

Post pacemaker implant and AV node ablation
Hi all! I am new to this forum. I think I have always had atrial fibrillation but it has become prominent last year where I became more aware of my symptoms. I've been on a number of medications such as Bisoprolol, Digoxin and Warfarin but it seems the AF is not being controlled so I was then referred
