New Drug Regime
My EP said today that we need to take an aggressive approach to get my AF/tachycardia under control. I was very nervous when he mentioned Amiodarone as I have read so many horror stories about it but he said he will only keep me on it for a couple of months. I’m also going onto Atenolol and staying on

Nocturnal afib
I tend to go into afib between midnight and 2am. Anyone else like that? I would say it is 90% of the time. Is this normal? I have paroxysmal afib. Finally confirmed in 2013. I can remember my heart flopping around like a fish out of water when I was a child. That would be 45 years previously. I have

Drug interaction
I have been writing about increased joint pain for months now. Following a post this morning , I began to wonder if my drugs are interacting and causing this joint pain. I have asked pharmacists but they were a bit vague. Does any one know if Digoxin and Losartan potassium together are contra indicated

EP appointment update
I saw my EP this morning who was really concerned about the dramas I’ve been having (for those who don’t know, I had an AFib & flutter ablation 3 1/2 weeks ago followed by a 3 night stay in hospital 2 weeks later when my EP was overseas). It seems I’m in the 1% club. He said about 25% of people have

Home again
After a 3 night hospital stay I’m home again. My heart is still flipping in and out of AFib and Flutter but at a much lower rate. I’m now on Digoxin as well the maximum dose of Sotalol. I feel a bit zonked but I guess that is to be expected. The cardiologist said not to run any marathons this week (just

Digoxin
Hi Has anyone had a really bad side effect from taking this! I have only taken 2, 125 mgs over the past couple days. Woke up at 0330 this am. Heart in rapid palpitations, feeling sick and dizzy. As you can imagine at the moment I feel terrible. Washed out, still dizzy and a thumping headache. All of

And in the next exciting instalment...
Hello from hospital again! (My 7th admission in 5 months) At least I have a room with a view and there was a gorgeous sunset tonight. It’s two weeks tomorrow since my ablation. I had been experiencing AFib/flutter episodes daily and in the last couple of days flipped in and out every few hours. With

Flecanide on its own?
I have been taking Flecainide on its own for the previous 8 months. Having tried nearly every beta blocker or calcium channel blocker with no success,as they all have had such adverse side effects. On Monday I saw a different cardiologist for a second opinion on my treatment. He has given me digoxin,

Sotalol versus bisoprolol
Hi, I would be interested to hear thoughts on my experience. I have had AF for around 13 years and latterly with flutter. Last January I was changed to Sotalol, 80 -40-80 every day after having severe AF for some months, on and off. All seemed ok until the last few months, I have a Kardia so am able

Nebivolol
Does anyone have experience of taking Nebivolol. Particularly interested to know if used to treat AF (usually for high blood pressure). Any side effects? What other drugs taken with it? Any experience with AF? Any experience with a pacemaker? Same questions for Digoxin. Thank you

Wolff Parkinson White - SVT - Untreatable.
Hi! I’m a 31 year old mum with a daughter (14) who has just had her second EP study with ablation. Sadly, this didn’t work. Her surgeon has said that it’s a complex case with her pathway running from the inside of the heart epicardially - making it virtually impossible to treat using catheter ablation

Chronic Cough since ablation-meds or TEE damage
6 weeks post cryoablation and still have a chronic hacking all day cough. On metoprolol , Digoxin & Eliquis & 81 aspirin. TEE was rough due to small esophagus and they scraped throat pretty bad. Anyone else have damage like I have and cough?

What if the drugs don’t work?...
Hi everyone I’m feeling a bit unsure about what my next steps can be as I had an ablation on 14 June and I’m still having episodes of afib - rate about 150 - that last 2 or 3 days at a time with a couple of days in between. Flecainide 100mg x 2 and Bisoprolol 2.5mg don’t work so EP said I can stop

Result that's ok but could have been better.
Update now 1year post abandoned ablation.Went to see my EP at Bristol Heart Institute end July, he was pleased that I am able to accept my now persistent AF which was paroxymal before partial ablation ,but my symptoms are not so strong now persistent so I will not be having another ablation at this

Just now reacting to medication?
Four months of taking Flecainide and 3 weeks of taking digoxin without any side effects. Just Recently started feeling dizzy. Anyone else experience this? Not in Afib or anything. Wondering if it’s just anxiety that’s causing it or the meds. Odd that side effects manifest so long after starting
