Hello! Any advice would be gratefully received, especially re Digoxin. Thanks.
Hi, This is my first time posting on here, although I have been reading lots of posts and good advice for a while now. My AF history in brief is as follows: Had palpitations for around a year, told GP and had a monitor fitted which picked up PAF in March 2019. Was given bisoprolol (2.5) but really

Cause and effect
Five times in the past five years I have had a horrible experience, the first of which led to my eventual diagnosis of AF, then HF and eventually DCM. I’m on the top dose of Entresto, 12.5 mg bisoprolol plus digoxin, atorvastatin, Apixaban, and furosemide. Two weeks ago I flew to Edinburgh for a Burns

Cardioversion without blood thinners
I had a cardioversion 6 months ago for Atrial Flutter at Hammersmith hosp which went well I thought until a few days ago when I went to A&E with palpitations. Unfortunately Hammersmith hosp doesn't have an A&E so I had to go to another and ended up having magnessium drip and when that didn't work, a

Caution with drugs
Just a caution to everyone. My husband was recently in the hospital with rapid atrial fibrillation. They used two drugs on him that apparently should not be used for Parkinson’s one was a calcium channel blocker the other was amiodarone commonly used for heart arrhythmia these drugs block dopamine

Cardioversion
Hi. My husband is scheduled for a cardioversion in 3 weeks time. We have been using a kardia since xmas and has shown only 3 episodes of af since then. He doesn't have any symptoms during one. He takes digoxin and rivaoxaban. If he is in NSR mist of the time will they still do cardioversion or is it

Stressed about upcoming Cardioversion
I didn't think I'd be stressed about this, but I am. I'm mainly stressed by the logistics of the day. I am to go to the Oxford hospital, which is a long way for me and which has nightmare traffic issues around and inside the hospital itself. I'm very worried about getting there on time. My husband

Been doing good, then...
I had some weird experiences this week. First, Monday my nurse made a home visit and I felt I was doing so well that I could reduce the visits from twice to once a week. Next day, I saw the cardiologist after not having seen him for three months. He didn't like how rapidly my heart was beating and

Digoxin
Hi should digoxin be used indefinitely, as this was prescribed after my mother’s operation and I’m not sure if this is making her symptoms worse.

Bristol Visit
I’d had a bad cough and cold over two weeks since Christmas.doctor said it was a virus. Then travelled to Bristol (5 hour) journey. Very tired but managed to see relations that evening. Went into AF in the night and took PIP. Flecainide(150 mg) didn’t seem to have the usual result of converting to sinus

Holiday Insurance
Hello everyone and Happy New Year! We are hoping to take a weeks holiday in Gran Canaria and I wondered if anyone could recommend a suitable Travel Insurance firm. I have had an Ablation for Atrial Flutter, but now have Atrial Fibrillation, kept in control with Digoxin and Bisoprolol. Many thanks Liz

Any experience of Amiodarone? The potential side effects sound frightening.
I was diagnosed with AF 9 months ago, but am new here. I was put on bisoprolol 10mg and rivaroxaban 20mg straightaway. The NHS wheels have turned very slowly for an echocardiogram, then finally an outpatient appointment in November. The registrar talked about amiodarone, mentioning some very unpleasant

8months post first ablation and ? slow AF episode
Hi everyone I am always interested to read other people’s experiences living with AF. We certainly have many variations in how the ectopic rhythms play out with different external and internal influences muddying the pool of symptoms and how we deal with it. I am nearly 8 months post my first PVI when

Alcohol and stopping due to HF
My husband has been a drinker averaging 6 cans a night for around 40 years. In Aug 2019 he found himself in hospital with swelling up to his abdomen and extreme coughing and breathlessness. As he hadn't visited a gp for 25 years , you can imagine this was a huge shock. Basically his diagnosis was heart

AF again!
1st time AF has reared it’s ugly head after ablation 5 years ago. I think it was brought on by being in a very stressful situation.I have just come home after 3 nights on the cardiology unit trying to chemically cardiovert me. Tried digoxin and upped my bisoprolol to twice a day to no effect. Remained

18 days post cryo-balloon ablation update
Here is another update on my post ablation journey. I hope it helps anyone who is considering an ablation. I have not had another migraine with aura since day 12. I have had some mild headaches still however. Still suffering from some ectopics daily, but I would not consider them to bothersome. Other
