Hello everyone and Happy New Year! We are hoping to take a weeks holiday in Gran Canaria and I wondered if anyone could recommend a suitable Travel Insurance firm. I have had an Ablation for Atrial Flutter, but now have Atrial Fibrillation, kept in control with Digoxin and Bisoprolol. Many thanks Liz

Have just seen your post - we have used Avanti (0800 033 4962) for the past 2 years and have had a good service from them. My husband is dealing with AF - he has had 2 cardio versions and 1 x ablation and is currently awaiting his 2nd ablation. We took out an annual policy last year for travel to Europe only and it cost us £350. You must be sure to tell them all medical conditions. We were hoping to go to Canaries for a week in February but are not sure we will still be covered - I'm going to phone Avanti before we start looking at any holidays as my hubby is now back on the waiting list for this 2nd ablation and it is quite likely we would not be covered so we will not be able to have any more holidays until he is signed off from the hospital again. Always be truthful and keep your travel insurance company informed and all should be well. Good luck and enjoy your holiday.

Have used them for about 5 years now, competitive, reliable and cover just about everything with 3 levels of cover. With my husband being over 85 and declaring 4 medical conditions and myself declaring 4 conditions it was hard to find anyone to cover us but we have been most impressed with this company.

Thank you so much for your helpful reply. I feel so much more positive about our proposed holiday now! We thought we would never see Gran Canaria again! Happy New Year! Liz

I found Boots best this year, I have controlled afib and flutter, also 3 years post cancer surgery/treatment, not the cheapest but seems to be quite comprehensive, I find that I have to actually "speak" to someone on the phone to ensure that everything is covered

Hi I used all clear travel insurance as they were one of few to offer cover whilst waiting further tests. As I had a diagnosis of PSVT confirmed by 5 day ecg and being treated they covered me but it was expensive. Good luck gill

Thank you so much. We have decided not to go abroad at the moment, but will bear your advice in mind if and when we do. Some warm sunshine is very tempting! Liz
