Preservative free dexamethasone discountined?
The consultant has requested my gp to provide me a repeat prescription for preservative free
dexamethasone
but my gp surgery is constantly denying my repeat prescription because they say it’s no longer available. I’m running low and it’s Easter so what should I do.

The 'holding strategy' is to take a baby dose of
dexamethasone
. they're about to publish a paper suggesting a possible 40% response to the steroid- the main side effect seems to be that I start talking like Donald Trump.... 7.

Radium 223 and (AdcalD3) calcium supplements
Also are there any views on keeping on
Dexamethasone
to control inflammation? I'd be grateful for wisdom here as to what works best particularly with regard to the Adcal and Zometa timing? Thanks

PSA Climbing while on Zoladex and Abiraterone with Prednisone
Going to ask if i can switch the prednisone for
dexamethasone
. Not sure if they will approve it. I was scheduled to start Xgeva. As I have been diagnosed with osteoporosis due to having ADT since 2017. What other treatment should I look forward to having. Thanks Rick PSA is 4.66

Dexamethasone & Chloramphenicol. Do they cause blurred vision?
They've stopped the Betamethasone I was given after the op and I'm now using
Dexamethasone
and Chloramphenicol. They also put yellow dye in my eye which blurred my vision. My vision's been quite blurry since - even this morning, before I started putting the steroids in, it wasn't quite right.

Surgery and aspirin: what protocol with APS?
For this new surgery the doctor will use 16 mg. of
Dexamethasone
IV to prevent eye inflamnation. I have a diagnosis of Double APS since 2007, with no thrombosis and taking 100 daily mg of Aspirin.

bombing a flare
When excruciating sciatica sent me to the emergency room several years ago, I was administered 20mg of
dexamethasone
(Decadron) to cut the rampant inflammation, which provided relief within an hour. That was followed by a Medrol pack for the next week and, with exercise, I got over the sciatica.

My PSA is still rising In the meantime I've been prescribed
Dexamethasone
. 500 micrograms. I've read some previous posts on this. Is the view on balance this can be helpful in keeping things stable? Thanks

Remifentanil / Fentanyl allergies in Lupus??? Or multiple allergies in Lupus??
I also had similar reactions to other drugs like
dexamethasone
and iodine for contrast dye infusions. These two were all post pregnancy. Has any one had reaction to drugs who are lupus or SLE, be great to compare notes . Or multiple drug allergies.

Moving on...to olaparib
I had been taking 0.50 mg of
dexamethasone
daily to help with this and now hope that I can reduce it safely to perhaps 0.25 mg a day. I had RP at Sloan-Kettering in May 2002, salvage radiation there in 2008, abdominal lymph node removal in London in May 2014 and again at the Mayo in July 2017.

Cabazitaxel plus carboplatin
I take
dexamethasone
, which was prescribed in the summer of 2021 to try to improve appetite. I've also had chronic lower back pain, which apparently is unrelated to PC. I have had scoliosis for some years. I am on Zoladex injections every three months.

Question about Dexamethasone with O&V
I started O infusions, alongisde
Dexamethasone
as a pre-med a relatively high dose of 20 mg (for context, I'm a very small woman!). Following each infusion my neutrophils have dipped again to 0.6 with need for G-CSF to get up to normal levels.

Reaching the end of treatment, suggestions beyond Docetaxel and Carboplatin.
I read once that the steroid to use with chemo could be
Dexamethasone
1 mg rather than prednisone 5 mg. Is there a clinical reason why? What next?

I have been diagnosed with phimosis and been prescribed Betamethasone to apply inside my foreskin and round my glans . This worked to a degree and I can retract my foreskin I little more but not fully , which is stopping me getting a full blown erection. If you have overcome this problem I would love

I remember that
dexamethasone
(also a corticosteroid) had some beneficial effects for patients with severe covid. Our experience is only 'anecdotal', but have others had comparable experiences?

Slow rising PSA. Wait and watch?
Should we wait and watch to see if PSA stablises or goes down again, giving Zytiga more time, or should I consult a different doctor and explore changing prednisolone to
dexamethasone
or alternatively Xtandi.

Malecare newsletter reports Finish study glucocorticoids (e.g. prednisone, prednisolone, dexamethasone) can lead to castrate resistance
“However, recent studies have shown that the glucocorticoid receptor also has an oncogenic, or cancer-promoting, effect in cancers like breast and prostate cancer. In prostate cancer, the glucocorticoid receptor can replace the activity of the androgen receptor, which is main oncogenic factor in this
