Be Aware To Beware.....FYI
The newer antihistamines loratadine (Claritin®) and
desloratadine
(Clarinex®) may have less side effects than older antihistamines. Cetirizine (Zyrtec®) may or may not have less risk. Topical eye or nose sprays/drops have the least risk of these side effects.

Clemastine (Tavegyl), an over-the-counter drug, found to be effective at inducing LMP and cell death
In the current study, we have shown that three over-the-counter antihistamines, clemastine,
desloratadine
, and loratadine, preferentially induce cell death via LMP in CLL cells, as compared to normal lymphocytes.

Silent reflux or asthma?
I tried 10 days of
desloratadine
antihistamine which felt great for the first 3 days then worse again. Chest x-ray was clear. Covid antigen test at week 10, and antibody test, bloods and eosinophils at week 11 were all negative/normal.

Can antihistamines help during an asthma flare up ?
As I am still struggling to bring my asthma under control, I was wondering if antihistamines (
desloratadine
) could potentially ease the symptoms or stop an ongoing attack that has been lasting for hours if not days ?

Anyway doctors first gave me
desloratadine
that didn't work so next day she gave me fenofexhadine and some cream to cool the itching. Within 2 days my legs were looking horrendous and the itching wouldn't stop. Third day she put me in steroids and 4th day increased the steroids.

Desloratadine v Levocetirizine for hayfever
My GP changed me from
Desloratadine
to Levo last year, and not sure it is a change for the better. Anyone else done this change and noticed deterioration?

POST NASAL DRIP - what is it ?
The newer generation of antihistamines, including loratadine (Claritin, Alavert), fexofenadine (Allegra), certirizine (Zyrtec), levocetirizine (Xyzal), and
desloratadine
(Clarinex), may be better options, and are less likely to cause drowsiness.

Hay Fever and Asthma
I'm on anti-histamines (
Desloratadine
), a nasel spray (flixinase or fluctisone or similar) and anti-histamine eye drops. In the past they have always worked and in the past few days my hay fever has went hay-wire - its awful. does anyone else get this? does anyone else go wheezy with it?
