Besides Loratadine, Cetirizine and Desloratadine, is there anything anyone has tried for the itching from Buprenorphine that works?

Good morning, try Benadryl it's OTC.Also Hydroxyzine 10 MG. Perscription
Both work for me. Take 1 -2 hours before bed. Best wishes. David
OMG NO BENADRYL!!! THAT FLARES RLS!!! I take Ropinirole and Gabapentin. I started with Gabapentin because it worked for someone else but was inconsiderate. My psychiatrist added Ropinirole. While it is used for Parkinson's disease tremors. It is also used for RLS AND WORKS AWESOME!!!! ROPINIROLE KEEPS ME SANE AND SLEEPING... FINALLY!!! I Also use Trazodone for Insomnia. So if I only took Ropinirole... it would keep RLS gone but I still wouldn't sleep.. Trazodone knocks me out hard 15 mins after taking.
I've been a severe chronic insomniac for 25 yrs and RLS SUFFEROR for 14 yrs!!!
*** ROPINIROLE AND TRAZODONE if you want SLEEP WITHOUT RLS!!!***
OMG NO ROPINIROLE !!! Sorry, couldn't help myself !! (agree on the benadryl)
Up to 70% of people will eventually suffer augmentation according to the Mayo Clinic Updated Algorithm on RLS which believe me you don't want because it can be hell to come off it and the longer you are on it, the harder it will be to come off it and the more likely your dopamine receptors will be damaged so that the now first line treatment for RLS gabapentin or pregabalin won't work nor might iron and it has been found that suffering from augmentation can lead to painful RLS which you don't want. And one expert believes everyone will eventually suffer augmentation.
Check out the Mayo Clinic Updated Algorithm on RLS which discusses augmentation and the latest guidelines on RLS treatment. Https://mayoclinicproceedings.org/a...
The sedating antihistamines ( including diphenhydramine and hydroxyzine ) are well documented and reported to worsen restless legs. I’ve come to realize that different people have different experiences. Did diphenhydramine and not effect your RLS at all?
OMG Benadryl works for me. If you read all the information here about Ropinirol you will see it has the Negative effect of Augmentation for some, and yet you love it.
It's important to try a medicine to see if you get a good result. If it doesn't work then you know it's not for you. If it does work then you found another way to relieve your suffering.
Don't be afraid to try!
All the best,
David
Have NO problem with it. Releives itch and helps with sleep. If you have a problem with it ask you Dr. to try Hydroxyzine.
I've found it important to try a medicine and see how YOU respond to it. Individuals can have a good responce to drugs that others say make rls worse. Give it a try.
All the best,
David
You are lucky that it doesn't make your RLS worse because both are on all the lists of things that make RLS worse.
I am able to take benadryl because gabapentin completely controls my RLS and since you take methadone that may be the case for you too.
So if one's RLS is controlled it won't hurt to try it, but people should be warned so they will know rather than just suggesting it.
Yeah, that sounds right. Sometimes I think we won't try a new medicine because it's on the "List" when in fact it may be helpful. RLS is such a debilitatingIllness we sometimes are willing to try anything to get relief.
I was on pramipixole for 30 years and
when I would complain that it was not working he would tell me to take more!!!
I finally found a great neurologist/ sleep doctor in NY who knows his "stuff". I'm down to .0625 prami and 600 Gaba, and 2.5 mg. Methadone. What a relief. Hope to be Prami Free in the new year.
Sue, thanks so much for ALL the helpful information you provide to the world. Truly 👏 Amazing work.
Wishing everyone a Holiday filled with
Relaxing ZZZ's.

I started on the Norspan patch 3 years ago and my skin was itchy and red raw. I changed to Temgesic tablets and now they have fixed the itchy problem with Norspan so happy with that.
I had the/have the itch thing with buprenorphine too. Zyrtec does usually work for me though if I take it before I take the buprenorphine. But there are plenty of nights that I go to bed with an ice pack (and ibuprofen) to dull the itch because it's not working very well. Keep trying, you will find what works for you.
times I had itching from that I applied ice packs on about 10 minutes and it disappeared. Try ice.❤️🩹
