Help. Suddenly much worse
My husband was doing really well pre lock down and now even though in NZ we are back to normal he has taken a big step backwards with symptoms. He had been getting stiffer so has tried to take the C/L kinson which made him very nauseous so he was unable to take enough to do anything. He has just changed

Tired of myself
Completely weened off depakote because I’m fairly certain pez would have been more effective. Every day I want to lash out and break whatever happiness other people have. It’s SO easy for them to be happy and not alone and it’s like they want to flaunt it in my face. I want to smash it and them for insulting

I’d be interested if this works for anyone else
I read that histamine intolerance can cause restless legs so I looked up foods with much histamine. I’ve cut out bananas, avocado, yoghourt, citrus fruits, tomatoes and spinach. After a few days my RLS disappeared. I am still taking my dopamine agonists but have not increased the dose as I was planning

Fava beans for dopamine in Parkinson's?
Fava beans for dopamine in Parkinson's...I searched here as I thought this subject had come up before, but didn't find any posts. Has anyone taken or eaten Fava beans for Parkinson's? What symptom is it supposed to help?

Things I didn't know about dopamine
This article about the brain’s master chemical, dopamine, is a little lengthy, but pretty informative and also gives ten natural ways to increase a person’s dopamine levels: Christina Sarich, Guest in Waking Times https://silverliningsandparkinsons.home.blog/2019/04/26/not-for-everyone/

So I finished the book...
I didn't know what to expect, maybe a primer on running and PD. Lots of aphorisms similar to Just Do It and Git 'er Done. Learned that standing is more difficult than running because it uses more dopamine. And Steve Evans was the first marathon finisher to have had DBS treatment. He finished

Medicine/Supplement Regime (Mucuna etc)
I just thought I'd share my dad's current medicine regime in case it will help other people. After so many months of trial and error, we have finally found a dose that works for my dad. He takes it every 2 hours and 45 minutes with little freezing, has less dyskinesias, not much pain, a better appetite

One-time treatment generates new neurons, eliminates Parkinson's disease in mice
A groundbreaking study lights up a new way of approaching PD treatment . " Researchers around the world have tried many ways to generate neurons in the lab, using stem cells and other means, so we can study them better, as well as to use them to replace lost neurons in neurodegenerative diseases," said

Mucuna Puriens or natural Dopamine and Grapefruit juice
Does anyone have experience is using the natural source of Dopamine ( Mucuna Puriens) ? A few questions pop to mind, how do you decide on the dose? How do you time taking it in relation to eating? Can you take it as a supplement to your other Parkinson's medications? What frequency do you take it ?

Anyone else with RLS & mind racing? Poor quality sleep.....
My RLS is under control with dopamine agents, insofar as the sensation in my legs is concerned...but my mind is constantly active and I don't sleep deeply at all. It's not consistent, sometimes it's worse than other times. I know the drugs can cause insomnia. I don't have a problem falling asleep, usually

I am New here
Hi,I am drummer67, dx in august 2018, when as a drummer, I found I was losing the ability to do my Blues shuffle drum groove. I am finding the topics on PTT-FUS and autologous dopamine stem cell transplants as hopeful tx's for me in the future.I still work part time and do lots of bicycling and downhill

i am a mommy to a 5yo daughter recently dx with severe combined adhd & odd.. possible sensory issues (among other things).. it was also recently explained that, due to complications at birth, her brain is not creating enough (if any) dopamine ("she needs meds").. due to a blood disorder, her hematologist

Study - sugar dampens dopamine
A lot of people find eating sugar increases RLS could this be a clue. High-sugar diet dampens release of dopamine, triggering overeating "On a high-sugar diet, we find that the fruit flies' dopaminergic neurons are less active, because the high sugar intake decreases the intensity of the sweetness signal

Alcohol is a main RLS trigger for me
After many experiments with excluding different things from my diet I have to admit that the main trigger is an alcohol. Say, what's wrong with only 1 drink, especially if it's a red wine? Or a little bit a good brandy to fall asleep faster? Yeah, I always knew that alcohol does mess with your sleep,

Probiotics exacerbating restless legs
Hi, I've a history of RLS but have made big improvements. However, I just took a high dose probiotic (500 billion CFU per day for a week) and it's really triggered a return. I feel this surge of energy in my legs, and then they this involuntary movement. My best guess is that the probiotics settled in
