Running Down Dementia
I signed up for Running Down Dementia. I initially signed up for the 100k run from April to end of August. But I completed that awhile ago and bumped it up to 300k.
I lost my mum to Dementia and now my mother in law. I'm doing this for everyone. And really comes from the heart.
HM training week10 day4 - intervals: 3.81km, av pace 9.08min/km, best pace 5.50min/km, best split 8.18min/km
Mr IDS is away looking after his mum, who has dementia, so I drank half a bottle of merlot. This was a bit of an error the night before an intervals run, especially as I hardly ever drink.

Thus is the life of the full time caregiver for a dementia patient. You are never on vacation, you rarely get time to or for yourself, you have little time to take care of yourself.
Weighted Blankets
As my dementia has progressed my level of anxiety has increased as well. A few years ago nothing bothered me, I worried about little. But now, a trip to the grocery store can become a nightmare for me in short order.
Reminded of my mother again
I don't know why but I seem to be following my mother's path through dementia much more closely than my father's. That fact was again brought home to me today as I was emptying the dishwasher and placing the dishes where they belonged.
