Cryoablation

For anyone about to have a cryoablation, let me reassure you, the expectation is FAR worse than the experience!!

Is any of you who had cryoablation in the past went through the same issue?

Almost 5 weeks since my cryoablation. I suffered phrenic nerve damage as a result, so breathing a problem. Any exertion leaves me gasping. I cannot sleep lying down. I have lost any independence I had, as I cannot walk more than a few feet without dizziness and breathlessness.

I have had AF for 8 years and had 2 cardioversions and then a cryoablation a year ago. Since then things have settled down a bit, I think due to the bisoprolol as well as the cryoablation. I am also on Losartan and warfarin.

I decided with good advice to have a cryoablation ablation procedure on 18th Aug. This went very well however my arrhythmia returned aggressively within a day of leaving the hospital. I am now having daily arrhythmia events lasting hours.

Went down for my cryoablation at around 1330. Went under general anaesthetic around 1400. Came round in between the recovery room around 1630. Now back on the ward. Was initially cold but warmed up now. Feel like someone punched me very hard in the breast bone, but otherwise fine.

I've had a cryoablation 2 years ago now and generally things have been pretty good but recently 2 months or so I've had episodes of skipped beats every few days. Never full blown AF just skipped beats that last a few hours then normally pass.

He straight away told me I would need another op but this time it wouldn't be cryoablation it would be cauterisation of the parts that have obviously healed themselves; so I am back on the waiting list, let's hope it's not as long as last time.

9 days since my cryoablation and I have been very breathless from immediately afterwards. I know this is quite common by reading other posts on here but can anyone tell me when I should expect it to get better.

I said "yes a cryoablation" he responded oh a cryoablation??? I said yes! that is what my consultant said is the best option for me with the highest success rate for my PAF .... he said oh! well we shall have to see what time we have!

Hi everyone, I had a cryoablation nearly 3 weeks ago (unfortunately i'm back in persistent AF) but have for the past couple of weeks been experiencing intermittent vision blurriness (need to blink), eye strain feeling around my eyes, dry eyes and the occasional headache.

just wondering who has had cryoablation ? it was offered to me as an option after an episode of AF resulted in me needing cardioversion - i thought would give medications a chance to work . Today (18 months after first cardioversion) i needed cardioversion again due to AF and atrial flutter .

I had a cryoablation with heavy sedation and was in the lab for about 2 hours. When I came round I didn't feel too bad and have only suffered some achiness and my groin is not painful at all. I was in sinus when I woke up this morning but after I came home today I felt myself go back into AF.

It has been three weeks since my cardiac cryoablation. The only problem that I'm having is some lingering discomfort at the cath site in my right leg. Site is completely healed with all swelling, bruising completely gone.

I had a cryoablation on 27 April and up until a few days ago, other than a few eptopics, everything had been going so well. The only medication I am on on is anticoagulant.

There is nothing of my health concerns to report since my Cryoablation 8 months ago. I decided it's time to take a trip and have booked for a cruise in Australian Waters.

I may have suffered vagal nerve damage during my Cryoablation at St Barts in Jun 16. My EP cannot ruled it out.
