Questioning correct medication
I live in the County in the USA and am about 20 miles (1/2 hour drive) to the nearest place to get my INR tested for
Coumadin
, so he thinks this might cause a problem.

Questions, questions
So my question is this: If one is controlling APS through use of
coumadin
, does that mean that one will no longer have any symptoms of APS? Do any of you still have APS complications?

Homeopathy and Coumadin
However, everything seems to interact with
coumadin
! Has anyone used some homeopathy or herbology? I am asking this because I know taking certain herbs in small doses are fine.
Coumadin
interacts with garlic and I use it almost everynight. Anyhow just looking for some feedback.

I am taking
coumadin
for a massive Pulmonary Embolism. This is the first time I have had my INR checked since leaving the hospital. It was 4.7 today. Is that too high?

On Coumadin-forgot my Vitamin K food yesterday--Can I eat more today??
Yikes, for the first time I totally did not eat anything with Vitamin K yesterday except for grapes. Should eat more than usual today or just go back on track for the rest of the week.

Global APS Score
I join and start hearing all of these stories, which makes me try to figure out the disconnect between me and my doctor - because I feel fine, but am being told to stay on
Coumadin
for the rest of my life. Again - everything - including IgG and Lupus anticoagulants are normal/negative.

What causes an INR to drop after it has been normal for multiple months in a row?
I have been on
coumadin
for a few months with my INR being within the therapeutic range. All of a sudden it dropped to 1.5 two weeks ago, and today after stopping at the clinic, I was down to 1.3. I came home and did a shot of Lovenox to supplement me until this evening when I take my
coumadin
.

My gums bleed occasionally when on Warfarin
The
coumadin
clinic I go to has me now coming every 3 weeks because I have been steady now at around 2.4. Has anyone experienced some bleeding gums they consider normal. I have difficulty finding extra soft toothbrushes but will buy a lot of them next time I find them.

Requesting experience and updates from those who have been on Xarelto for APS for 6 months or longer.
Naturally
Coumadin
has been offered. Given my line of work and experience with
Coumadin
in both the neuro and cardiac critical care settings I am extremely resistant to starting
Coumadin

I am 88 and I an on Coumadin for years, due to having a mechanical aortic value put in. I have had several episodes lately with bleeding
Can I go off
Coumadin
and take aspirin? Am I at a serious risk of stroking out and do you know how long it would take for the blood to get too thick and not work properly with the value? Thank you

Has anyone been able to take Coumadin but not Warfin ?
I take a Warfin & I swell up like an elephant-everywhere, I have a migrane, and feel sick. I have read that they use different filler & dyes that can cause problems. Designer16

I am new to this site, six mos post broken ankle and resulting dvt, just diagnosed with APS
I hate
coumadin
...it gave me terrible headaches every day...and my INR was all over the place every week. I had a high dose...10 mg every day. Is it possible the blood test was wrong?

I've been using coumadin (Warfarin) blood thinner for several years and occasionally have discomforting aches in my legs, burning & numbness
I prefer not to take
coumadin
at all but the doc is adamant. I like juicing and eating my greens but that affects the blood test because greens have vitamin K. So my blood test are never the same. I say why bother. Lately my platelet count is lower than usual.

Has anyone considered switching from Coumadin to Xarelto? What's been your experience? (Saw some year-old posts but hope for updates.)
I've done fairly well on
Coumadin
(but with a couple of serious bleeds). My hematologist is suggesting I switch to Xarelto but I'm nervous about it. need to make a decision next week. Has Xarelto been approved by the FDA for APS patents?

Could swelling in random fingers mean Lupus?
I have been treated with
Coumadin
, and have responded fine. 3 months ago, I started having random swelling in one finger on each hand. Could this be the beginning stages of lupus?

Has anyone had surgery using a Lovenox bridge for Coumadin? I'm nervous about going off Coumadin for the 1st time since my stroke—12 years.
