Got another stent in 15 months - why and what should I do next. Anxious?
Hi, I am 61 year old living in San Francisco Bay Area and in Jan 2023, I got 4 stents (2 in LAD, 1 each in LCx and RCA). Had 50-60% blockage in distal RCA and D2 of LAD. Before the stents: LDL-C was in 70s, ApoB and LP(a) were never measured. A1C was 5.6, Blood pressure 130/80. Active - Biking 3

Silly I know... seeking reassurance. Since my NSTEMI (and stent fitting) in December I have eaten ultra healthily and have lost 1.5 stone without even trying. I take 30 minute brisk walks daily and am feeling much much better. My cholesterol has dropped from 4.3 to 1.1. Yesterday I ate two pieces

Update on me/angiogram/contrast
A while back I wrote about how I had a blockage in my legs and would have to have an angiogram/plasty with contrast. My vascular doctor and nephrologist worked together and came up with they would hydrate me 4 hours before the procedure and 2 hours after, also the vascular would only use as much contrast

Hi All, I haven't posted for a while, so I will try to explain how I feel generally. Had HA back in September & had a stent fitted. Most of the time I feel ok but every now & again I feel pretty awful, like I'm getting over Flu or a virus. My main symptons are tenderness in lower ribs & stomach ache

vegan burger
hi there, I had a stent put in just under a month ago and I have been eating really well. I am going out tonight for a vegan beyond burger and am freaking out that it’s not healthy enough. Do you think I’ll be alright? Is one burger alright? Many thanks Karin

Still pain
Hello, My husband had a stent and double bypass following a heart attack 8 months ago. He's doing incredibly well with rehab and getting fit again. He's still getting pain around his pecks and tightness across his chest when exercising. This goes when he relaxes, so short-lived . I was wondering if

Question for those who are stented
Hello I'm sure this has been asked several times but I've had a look and cant find an answer on here. In January 2023 I was stented due to a blocked LAD artery. My other arteries were healthy and fine and the blockage was believed to be caused from a clot due to Antiphospholipid syndrome. My question

Yet another procedure!!
I had a double cabg on 18th January this year and now have to have my gallbladder removed!! This hasnt come as a surprise!! I've known about it for a while. I've to follow a special diet for 2 weeks before the op. Everything weighed and measured!! Doing it doesn't bother me in the slightest. I'm wondering

Ablation for VT
I had my first heart attack 15 years ago and had a CABG - have been fine since apart from a reduced EF and heart failure, so have been on meds with regular check ups. More recently. following another heart attack, I had a stent fitted then they put in an ICD. Frustratingly, the ICD was fitted as a

Alternative to a Stent
Hi everybody, I just read this article by John Crace in the Guardian. He had a heart attack about a week ago and then had an Angiogram. He mentions that he expected to have a stent fitted to resolve a blocked artery, but instead the cardiologist used a drug to remove the blockage. I had not heard about

Interesting Article (please read)
came across this article today and would like to know your thoughts: i was swayed by flashy advertising in the late 1990s featuring medical stars like Professor Lord Winston, who convinced me that omega-3 fish oil supplements were essential for my brain and my heart. Fast forward to today, and
