New to all of this...
Hi We are new to all of this and just wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation to us or can give us some advice. My partner finished 15 rounds of chemotherapy and radiotherapy 2 years ago and has now been cancer free for 2 years, as a result of the treatment he has lost his fertility completely

Traditional Radiation therapy -- used everywhere/Proton Radiation therapy more targeted, safer --only in five or six centers in the U.S.
Persons prescribed radiation therapy need to know the difference between photon and proton. The proton radiation does not burn you all the way in and beyond the target. If possible refuse the traditional radiation and choose the other. Its been around for about 30 years, though some insuraqnces claim

It has been mentioned that because i have been on long-term steroids (20 months) this could affect my skin because steroids thin the skin. ADT and PSA levels
Hi All, I just wanted some advice. We saw the radiologist yesterday to start a treatment plan for my partner. We had so much information that we forgot to ask him to elaborate on something he said. He said there is no research reported benefit from being on ADT for 18 months as compared to 6 months

Stage 4 NSCLC with metatasis to brain
Hi Someone really close to me has been diagnosed in April with lung cancer that had spread to the brain. We are in complete shock. As this is stage 4 it’s non treatable but they suggest radiotherapy to the whole brain And then immunotherapy to the lung. We have been told they have limited time. With

What type of skin cancer is it?
We have just been told my daughter has skin cancer in 3 areas, on her shoulder, chest and back, it is non melanoma we think, how do they decide if it is basal cell or squamous cell. She hasn’t seen a consultant yet but early stage skin doctor says the one on her shoulder requires biopsy and radiation

Hello I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer last september. Big pressure to have radiotherapy but I asked for a second opinion and then declined. I've been tamoxifen since January but my legs have turned purple and mottled. Also, my body feels soo cold all the time even when the weather is good.

Survival after radiotherapy vs. radical prostatectomy for unfavorable intermediate-risk prostate cancer.
New study below [1]. "RP {radical prostatectomy} was associated with higher survival when compared to EBRT {external beam radiation therapy} (HR = 2.30) and brachytherapy {BT} (HR = 2.9" but: "We found no statistically significant difference in survival between RP and EBRT+BT. Week 8 & hit the wall
So I got to week 8 which I am pretty proud of since I was having radiotherapy in March but I seem to have hit a wall & whilst I made the 25 minutes in week 7 I have only managed the 28 minutes in week 8 - once & that was hard. I will try & keep going until I have completed this 3 consecutive times.

Trying to decide Active Surveillance vs other options
I'm new to this site and am looking for feedback on active surveillance vs radiation. I'm 57 years old and via normal checkups had an elevated PSA level that went from 2.6 in June 2017, to 3.2 last fall to 4.9 this past month. Based on the elevated trajectory of my PSA levels, it was recommended I

Duration of ADT until castration resistence
If you ask your doctor how long the ADT will work until castration resistence begins, he will tell you probably two to three years. That is what I also read in many studies. However, many patients are asked to do three years of ADT after their radiation therapy. Are you usually castration resistent

Finally a diagnosis
Mum has lung cancer absolutely devastated but keeping positive. It’s stage IV as it’s spread to her spine so unable to be cured. Initially told mum would need chemo, then radiotherapy on her spine but had an oncology appointment straight afterwards and they decided as the cancer was EGFR+ they are treating
