New study yields insights into chronic rejection after lung transplantation
A study of lung tissue from patients with end-stage bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome (BOS) as a complication of lung transplantation yielded molecular and morphologic insights into the development of chronic rejection. These insights may help develop therapies to optimize long-term outcomes for lung

The Lambda variant is now in 29 countries, but what evidence do we have that it’s more dangerous?
...........................................A variant of interest is one that has mutations that are predicted or known to affect things such as transmissibility (how easily the virus spreads), severity of disease, ability to evade immunity from past infections or vaccines, or confound diagnostic tests

Celebrating the 10th anniversary of my last birthday.
When first diagnosed I was told that I MIGHT survive 10-15 months with the most aggressive treatment available. That was October of 2010. When my birthday came in July of 2011, I sincerely believed I would die within a few months. So I decided to go out in style. I threw myself a big birthday bash

Immunocompromised? Why the COVID-19 vaccine might still protect you
COVID-19 vaccinations may not offer as much protection to people with compromised immune systems, but just how much appears to be driven by the type of underlying condition, new research suggests. Lung transplant
Hi all I’m just starting the process to see if I am suitable for a lung transplant. I have scleroderma, Raynaud’s phenomenon & interstitial lung disease. Has anyone been/going through this process got any advice? I’m trying to weigh life quality without verses with having a transplant. Tia

I had all the bloods, swabs, was prepped for theatre etc. Then it

Targeted Therapy for ‘Undruggable’ Lung Cancer Stems from Decades of UCSF Research
Over the past two decades, targeted cancer therapies have changed the prognosis for thousands of patients. People attending the NHS Targeted Lung Health Checks in Southampton are being invited to take part in the iDx Lung trial, which will offer new
