After recovering from a Decompensated liver from just 2 weeks to live, then it was 3 months, then 1-2 years then 5 years to live, I have now been given the news that ive done so

Transplant waiting list
My father has stage 4 liver cirrhosis caused by alcohol and has been in and out of hospital a few times because of blood in stool or vomiting blood. He has stopped drinking completely as of 6 weeks ago, I would describe his drinking as more of a habit over a long period of time as opposed to needing

INR/FIBRINOGEN
Can someone please tell me if anything else can affect INR or FIBRINOGEN levels, last year my INR was 1 on the ratio and is now 1.1 does this mean the liver is getting worse or can that figure change, it is literally just on the last part of normal now, also my FIBRINOGEN is almost double what it should

Not Cirrhosis
So many of you have watched my journey of the misdiagnosis of my wonderful wife. In the end, we now know a combination of Antibiotics destroyed her kidneys. Due to thinking she had cirrhosis, they had dosage values wrong...etc..etc. She had high billis, which was due to a medication reaction, and

Does anyone on similar meds to me for RA have Irritable Bowel Syndrome?
I've been on rituximab and Lefludomide for about ten years and all is reasonably stable. However over about five years I've developed IBS symptoms - wont repeat them here. They do limit what I can do and wonder if anyone else has suffered from them. I'm not convinced the meds are to blame incidentally

Coma or Vegetative state
Hi - My brother has been in an induced coma following a stroke for 3 weeks. Every time they try to wake him they say he gets “agitated”. Also, today his case manager told me he is able to open his eyes, but when they did the light in the eyes test, there was no reflex. What does that mean? Is he officially

Private Health care for second opinion
Has anyone used private health care for a second opinion? I’m 7 weeks post Fibroscan and still nothing in writing. I had a call from a hepatologist last week. He hadn’t seen the scan either but said based on my memory of it I have Cirrhosis. I want someone to give me a proper diagnosis. Bupa have agreed

New 'cirrhosee' with reading of 75 on Richter scale! H E L P
See my bio - recently diagnosed cirrhosis with fibroscan reading of 75. Gutted!Interested to hear from those who have, over time, reduced this reading/'score'. Also keen to hear from those with associated eating disorders - e.g. gastroparesis (sluggish stomach) and best ways of managing. Experience

Diagnosis at last! Haemochromotosis?
I've posted a few times on this forum but a bit of backstory - hubby, 43 had sudden onset of upper right quadrant pain last December, has some tests for gallstones, found nothing, immediately stopped drinking (had drunk heavily for around 15 years), and after a lot of back and forward was found to have

Hello, I have posted about my dad who is in his late 70s in ICU for severe pneumonia here before, but here is the current situation. At the moment, he is stable and he is close to weaning off sedation completely and starting ventilator weaning (trachy) soon. His ventilator setting is O2 35%, Saturation

Fibroscan Results
Howdy, I've recently had a scan after increased liver enzymes and an ultrasound nine months ago which showed a fatty liver as a result. Naturally, it motivated weight loss with a cleaner diet which meant a BMI change from 31.2 to 27.1 - so quite some change ! The fibroscan results noted 4.7 KPA and

Ropinirole, Pramipexole and etc
Hi community, It's been years since I last wrote here as my RLS is quite mild. Few years ago it was quite under control even mild episodes. I used to take 0.25mg of Ropinirole (Adartel) in case of episode and it would work very well. I moved from London to Finland few years ago, and last year I started

blood test results
Hi all. I am age 24 male. History with excessive alcohol for the past 5 years. I recently got a full blood work carried out at my GP and my liver enzymes came back as ok, but I don’t really understand what any of it means. I tried calling my GP and it’s like trying to milk blood out of a stone
