Claustrophobia

has anyone took Diazepam for an mri and how was it - did you feel spaced out or uncomfortable with it or did it help anxiety and claustrophobia?

I have serious claustrophobia. And I mean serious, ie, I turn into the incredible Hulk from the anxiety and can't complete one. Has anyone had an Open MRI scan and if so canould you share your experience please.

Does that just relieve pain or will it also, hopefully, totally relax me and help me with my claustrophobia? I am worried about it. Will they put pillows under my head? Appreciate any advice. Thanks

I had one this morning but they didn’t use buscopan or contrast due to my claustrophobia they wanted to just get on and do the scan without me backing out, which I’m glad of now as I needed the scan done. hopefully this won’t affect my images they said it wouldn’t

im panicking all day. suffocating. having hard time take care of myself. feed myself. claustrophobia and agoraphobia at the same time. had a nightmare about mom and still messed. the place is messing me. i feel like suffocating

It's not my fault I have complex PTSD, agoraphobia, and claustrophobia. I hate American society, now. It feels like the people in charge just don't give a damn about anyone but themselves. I am in pain every day and all I do is work to manage it. I'm so tired of the heartlessness of it all.

I was originally scared of flying because of contamination worries, but now it seems to be less of that and more of a fear of throwing up or a sense of claustrophobia/being out of control that I hate.

This is the 2nd time I've tried an MRI (last time was a back injury) and the 2nd time I've had to pull out almost immediately due to the claustrophobia. Anyone else experienced this - and what can be done about it?

I have confinement claustrophobia and this was just plain torture. For the last of t treatments I took ativan. now I am going to have radiation to cervical vertebra number 1 which has fractured. The say there is little hope of healing if it is not treated.

I've mentioned previously the horrible anxiety/restlessness/claustrophobia type symptoms I've had for a few weeks now and recently had a private blood draw to understand what is going on.

However, since around 2019 I've had bouts of what I can only describe as a mixture of depression, anxiety, restlessness and claustrophobia and it is deeply unpleasant.

At the age of 75, I suddenly suffered panic attacks and claustrophobia. I couldn't travel on the underground, go in lifts, panic attack if I was in a room and couldn't see the exit. night panic, needing to step out of doors to get fresh air.

Now the doctor wants to do an MRI ( which I’m feeling anxious already about, because of claustrophobia. I think they are worried about Actemra and pancreatitis. Has anyone experienced this, and could it be the Actemra?

I do have a bit of claustrophobia but never felt this horrible before. They wrap you in heavy plastic shit to make sure you don't move and then stick you in a tunnel with plastic projections almost touching your face. If the scan fails due to some minor technical error they have to repeat it.

I dont have to take part, its anonymous randomised and I wont know my own results but be helping future patients, I shall find out more on Thurs after the preop but wld appreciate anyones input on what the scanners really like, dont mind abt the noises its just the claustrophobia!

I’ve previously had claustrophobia and these symptoms catalysed a number of repeated panic attacks and racing, catastrophic, even suicidal thoughts as the torture continued uninterrupted for several weeks with no diagnosis of any kind in sight from my GP.

I am very uncomfortable lying flat and have claustrophobia. A friend of mine shared that there is another option, and you have to search around for a cardiologist that might have it. It is much quicker (ten minutes) in the chair than the other apparatus.

The Dr. said because of my claustrophobia she will just ultrasound me again in 6 months but I am worried and feel maybe I should ask for a fibroscan. Does anyone else have cysts in their liver?
