start Casodex or wait for 2nd opinion ?
Is it okay to wait 1-2 weeks to start Casodex in order to get a 2nd opinion on treatment / hormone therapy recommendations ? My relative just found out he is Gleason 9 and urologist wants to start him right away on Casodex and then Lupron shot in 2 weeks. After that he would start radiation in

Gleason 9, Age 72, stage 3 or 4 ?
Appreciate any help / feedback on if we should get 2nd opinion. The urologist would not tell us the exact stage, and avoided saying that it has spread or stage IV. He said the radiologist would be the one to stage it, but he suggested it was T2, N0, M0. I am concerned that Gleason 9 (4 + 5) and

Orgovyx-- need info/experiences
Well, my PSAs have started rising. I have one more late next week. In the past, Lupron/Casodex has successful knocked the snot out of my PSA's. Dr. Lam has suggested that I do Orgovyx next time. I have a video chat with him on the 16th. Barring a pleasant PSA surprise I will need to start it PDQ*!!

Should our RO's be doing HDR for Gleason 9?
My husband is 62, fit, active, but is Gleason 9 (4+5). All 12 cores were positive and he has seminal vesicle invasion and some evidence of extra capsular extension. Thankfully, Pylarify PSMA-Pet scan was clear with no lymph node or bone metastasis. So, he is cT3b N0M0. 2 urologist/surgeons thought surgery

Follow up after MO Visit and PSMA Pet
I have taken a lot of information from this group and so very much appreciate it... Here is where my husband is at.. Saw MO and discussed the PSMA... he is castrate resistant, psa is at .20 as of Friday.. The most interesting idea she has was to try to immediately get rid of the cancer still looming

UPDATE AFTER IMRT
Haven't posted in a while, but here's a quick update (My Bio has the full details from diagnosis to present.). After recovering from RALP in mid February I had my PSA checked in late May. PSA was 8.11 which led to my Urology Oncologist (UO) starting me on Casodex & Eligard, and ordering a GA-68 PSMA-PET

CDK12 mutation
We have had Foundation One test and Gradient Blood biopsy which both report CDK12 mutation. There is no “definitive” SOC for this rare mutation. We are in yr 5 since RP surgery, radiation, and two rounds of Lupron/Casodex. The Lupron/Casodex has stopped working. PSA went from .9 to 2.9 in 6 months

Recurrence after 2.5 year break from ADT
This is a quick note to thank all of the members here who have shared their experiences and knowledge. After a 2.5 year break from Casodex and Lupron, my husband's PSA started increasing in August 2022. It's still low but is now at 2.9. His oncologist ordered several scans including a PSMA. As results

Opinion?
Newly diagnosed, Gleason 9, PSA about 40 at biopsy, aggressive, PET shows low burden, two bone mets. At my age 82, although health "very good", Onc wants to avoid chemo. Just started on Casodex and will add Lupron, until PSA under control then add (switch to?) Zytiga and radiation to clean up prostate

first PSMA
What was your timeline? I know my RO said in our last meeting, assuming PSMA is node neg and distant met neg), that I would start Casodex (I already have the pills) day after the scan, a couple weeks later, Lupron, and the a couple weeks later the first full pelvic radiation (35 at 70 grey) Is that

intermittent anti androgen monotheray and bipolar androgen therapy
casodex mono therapy raised T to 1000 and going off cycle exposing naked pc to high T would be a mild form of BAT. MAYBE EVEN MORE WITH NEW AA. Has anyone thought of this interesting possibility. I have done this once for a 2-3yr period of 23 yrs of HT

Introducing myself. Have mostly lurked for a couple of months, but time to formally say I'm here and start asking my own questions.
Hello all, my name is Dave. I've just updated my profile with all medical info on my case. Hate that I need to be in this particular club, but glad there's such a great resource to learn from in the form of this forum. I'm stage IVB (cT3b, cN1, cM1b, PSA: 3.8, Grade Group: 4) - no hint of cancer until
