Almost 40years of complexity and no end in sight?
In Feb 1987, I returned to the UK after a 3 year posting in Cyprus and we were accommodated in married quarters on a nearby former USAF base. About 6 months later, and without any warning my symptoms of tiredness and general malaise started. I was prescribed an iron tonic, which eventually I was drinking

Hi All I would count myself as part diagnosed. As in not much info coming my way. Had to do what you guys have all done which is help myself- although there have been some pitfalls. One being that i cut so many food types out of my diet that i'm now scared to add things back in along with dosage changes

Thyroid cancer, hypothyroidism and kidney function
Hello, I’m usually on the pernicious anaemia forum but I’ve been recovering from a diagnostic hemithyroidectomy confirming thyroid cancer. I think I am beginning to enter hypothyroidism in a big way and am waiting for my NHS TSH test results. I know that private free t3/t4 etc. testing is better but

Constantly overheated
I’ve had hypothyroidism for over 10 years and first few years struggled to get my meds correct in terms of ‘ how I feel’ (unbelievably sluggish and tired) which has meant fighting my Gp to allow TSH to be on low side (0.03). As I’m in UK they won’t test T3 levels only TSH and sometimes T4 (which last

First bloods after starting levothyroxine only TSH tested?
Good morning, I asked for both T4 & T3 to be tested? The nurse explained that "it's only done at the lab if needed" so how's that going to work? How will the GP know if I need an increase etc.....no answer? What are we dealing with here? Has it always been this way or is it because the NHS is basically

Monitor My Health Results Layout
Hi all, I did a home test earlier this year after covid that showed I'd become hypothyroid, (I'm now ok). I would like to show these results to my specialist but he only accepts results that have the patients name on the same page as the test results. MMH have graphs meaning my details at the top

Advice Please 🙏🏻
Hi all, Could anyone please give me some advice on my latest bloods please? The last time I posed on here the advice was to up my dose from 100mcg to 125mcg. Do I need to go up a bit now again? since my last post I have been diagnosed with Polymyalgia rheumatica and have been on 20g of steroids.

latest blood results…grateful for any thoughts/advice
**** I have posted screen-shots of recent results from Aug 2024 in the comments. Bit of a cock-up with timings - so it was a non-fasting, blood test taken about 7 hours after I’d had my levo (87.5mcg, been on that dose since April 2024. I’m also on HRT Evorel Sequi patches 50) - doesn’t seem to have

Impact of levothyroxine on thyroid direct production of T3
My understanding is the thyroid produces both T4 and T3 although the majority of our T3 comes from conversion of T4 to T3. If we are taking thyroxine only (T4), which is lowering TSH, would it effectively cause a decrease in the amount of T3 being produced directly by the thyroid gland in the scenario

High FSH
Hi everyone I was devastated yesterday when I found out through my blood test that my FSH levels are too high (19.8) to do my ivf round. I had a medicated cycle previously that only resulted in one egg (unfortunately this egg turned into a blastocyst but didn’t stay when implanted) this 2nd round was

Hello, I need some help please. I have recently had a couple of bouts of Atrial Fibrillation, May and July. My GP registrar wrote to the endocrinology team to ask for advise because my TSH was 0.02. The endo (who I have never met) has written back and said to halve my dose of T3 from 20mcg to 10mcg
