I still have them but have found a few helpful tips: For the skin problems I have used Aveeno bath oil, (a good 10-15 min soak each night in a warm -not hot bath). For the spots 2.5% hydrocortisone cream, via

prednisolone withdrawl and hydrocortisone
Hi, this is my first post but I have been lurking around some time. My son is 14 and was diagnosed with asthma when he was just a few months old. Over the years he has been on just about every asthma medication imaginable and ended up as a last resort on long term prednisolone which he has been taking

Dry Skin
Hi I was wondering if anyone can help me / offer advice. I have recently managed to wean off pred after 14 continuous months, lungs are doing okish (long may it last!) but skin is another story. Since stopping the pred it has gone really dry, cracked and keeps bleeding. I was prescribed hydrocortisone

IV Hydrocortisone
Has anybody been on IV Hydrocorisone? My asthma's getting worse and my consultant says he isn't sure anymore about what to give me that will actually work. I've been on antibiotics and very high prednisolone for the last month-I'm normally on pred daily and its been suggested that I have the IVs. Oh

Coming off long-term Pred
Well it's a record - I managed a whole 27 days off the Pred!! Back to 40mg again now :( I was wondering if anyone had successfully managed to come off it after being on it long-term and stay off it? I've developed adrenal insufficiency so taking Hydrocortisone replacement for that, so I'm now on double

Steroid Doses
My maximum (and for a long time - usual) Pred dose has been 40mg daily and I've had all the wonderful side effects on this dose. Now the hospital have put me up to 60mg Pred AND 50mg Hydrocortisone daily. I did confirm this with them to check they did really mean that. It seems really excessive to

adrenal glands not working
Hi all. just after a little bit of info. My daughter had a synthacten test last week and yesterday her consultant rang me to tell me that unfortunately the test showed that her adrenal glands were not working as well as they should be. My daughter has now got to have a supply of hydrocortisone on standby

What are the steroid shape changes?
I am currently in week 6 of a hospital admission for an exacerbation which just isn't settling, despite continuous iv salbutamol etc etc. Throughout this time I've been receiving 100mg iv hydrocortisone four times a day, and every attempt to drop the dose has destabilised the asthma. Unsuprisingly,

referral & theophylline
I recently saw my gp as after two week-long pred courses I was still having a hard time with my asthma, with constant severe attacks that come on very quickly. My doctor was going to prescribe me theophylline after explaining that I was already on max meds (confusion point number 1), but decided not

Steroid induced diabetes
Hi Have been on pred for about 16 months, never getting below 20mg and due to frequent hospital admissions have had a fair amount of iv hydrocortisone.
