Hay fever medicines
Yet I’ve read that “A few common stimulating over-the-counter medications to watch out for include Actifed
chlorpheniramine
and
phenylephrine
, pseudoephedrine, and acetaminophen,
chlorpheniramine
, and
phenylephrine
.” Does anyone know of an anti-allergy medication which is safe for those with AF?

Decongestant ingredient in popular products does not work, FDA concludes
There have long been questions about those with thyroid issues taking phenylephrine, in any form. Including used by ophthalmologists during operations. The latest news suggests not being able to take phenylephrine might not make much, if any, difference! Note: The brand names mentioned might well contain

mixing meds with bisoprolol
I have a dreadful cold at the moment. I feel like death describes exactly how I am feeling. I have been offered a hot drink. Max Strength Optipharma. It contains Paracetamol, Phenylephrine and decongestion. Does anyone know if this will interfere with my daily Bisoprolol. Unlike many of you on this

Introducing myself - symptoms worsening, seeking a diagnosis (sorry for the long post!!)
Hi there, I strongly suspect I have a mast cell condition - which has currently flared up at its worst. Background: I was always very healthy, no allergies at all, up until my early twenties when in 2017 I developed a problem with facial swelling and rash. It took about six months to poinpoint the

Decongestant and SVT episodes
SInce starting bisoprolol about 6 months ago I've had almost no significant SVT episodes (palpitations). That is until last night and this morning when I've had several lasting 5 minutes or so. It was actually the first time an episode has started during sleep. I've been taking Tesco cold and flu

Cold medications and levothyroxine
I was diagnosed this year with having an underactive thyroid and started on levothyroxine. I read when looking up cold medications that I was supposed to avoid some decongestants and specifically the ingredient phenylephrine which would be active in those. I have just also come down with COVID.

Decongestants
I've looked here and elsewhere in the past but been unclear about what I've read. In the last 24 hours I've developed mild cold symptoms which seem to be getting worse. I need to travel in a couple of days and would find that easier if I was able to control the symptoms a little. I have a small amount

Breathing worse this week, montelukast side effects
Hey everyone, i was put on the brown preventive inhaler last year which worked really well in controlling my breathing problems but this week I'm struggling so badly! I haven't a clue what sets it off, i don't seem to have hayfever symptoms as it's year round symptoms. I got rid of my feather pillows

Truxima (Rituximab biosimilar) infusions effects?
Does anyone get strange effects from 6 week point after first two infusions? I did get pretty bad hot and cold episodes for a week or so straight after the second infusion. I’ve got intermittent hot all over (no temp) with sweat beading on forehead; intermittent chills; intermittent prickling like needles

Ongoing allergic reaction... and horrible horrible hives...
Hello! I am back yet again for any advice people might have. I've posted twice in the past, once as I was curious as to whether people thought I might have lupus (ongoing fatigue, headaches, general malaise, ESR floating between 20 - 25, CRP floating between 25 - 35). The second post was because last

This is not a question, please if your thyroid ain't well try as much as you can to avoid any thing that contains. Pseudoephedrine, phenylephrine and ephedra commonly found in nasal decongestants.

flucloxacillin while on MTX.....worried 😕
Im a bit worried as I have had swimmers ear or ottitis externa for years but has flared really bad and excema in other places but my GP has prescribed me flucloxacillin (antibiotic) and chlorphenamine to clear this all up. I asked was this ok with mtx and he said it should be. Think I shall give my rheumatologist

Science or Snake Oil: does EASEaCOLD really help to shorten your cold?

AFIB triggers
Just had a brief episode of AFIB, I have identified the trigger as liquorice! Had my first few pieces of lovely liquorice for ages last night and almost immediately went into AFIB. I suffered persistant AFIB until flecainide eventually got me back into sinus rhythm over a year ago. Previous episodes

Rituximab and heightened histamine/allergic reaction? Or just the soya yoghurts I ate ?
I had my second of the latest duo of Rituximab infusions on Tuesday, three days ago. No reactions at the time at all and nothing to report on the one two weeks ago or indeed any of the others I've had since 2014. Just some increased upper respiratory infections from time to time. I can only think the
