Thank-you. I have googled and Phenylephrine, being a decongestant, can raise blood pressure and have other negatives. So, I will stick to plain paracetamol.
Bad idea I'm afraid. Phenylephrine is known to cause arrhythmias. Paracetemol if fine and hot lemon and honey but you may well regret taking cold remedy meds.
There’s no need to take anything for a cold. It’s unnecessary. Cold remedies don’t do much. Paracetamol may reduce your temperature but a raised temperature is part of your immune system’s normal response to a virus and it has a specific function. Also, it will pass. As will your cold symptoms. Let your body do its job.
Stick to the Vit C in McCoys box. I get over a cold/flu in 3 days.
I'm on Bisoprolol. I couldn't do without some when introduced to CCB Calcium Channel Blocker.
Bisoprolol blocks adrenaline into the muscles and make up of the heart. CCB blocks calcium to relax the heart muscles in a different way.
Very interesting.
Cold meds over counter mostly are banned from those taking an anti-coagulant.
Be so careful of a decongestion med there is - used to cough it out or withhold coughing. My Mum at 89 was given antibiotics and cough suppression together.
But when she had completed antibiotics her progress went straight to pneumonia. It spoilt her trip with me.
Checking back in NZ treatment is OK on antibiotics and suppression of cough together only.
Beaware. Apparently there is suppression and urge to cough out. But other guests
were complaining about her coughing in our accommodation. I wore ear plugs.
