cancelled ablation
I was having a
catheter
ablation
next Wednesday, but they rang me this morning, saying it’s cancelled because of the Doctors strike. I am so cross. I have been waiting for this for well over a year and was gearing myself up for it and now I have no idea when it will take place.

Greetings from an AF sufferer.
Roll on many years of numerous undiagnosed instances of AF I finally got the diagnosis from a consultant in 2022, this led to me having a
catheter
ablation
procedure in March this year and be placed onto anticoagulants (Edoxaban).

Still need to see DrSahu the EP who did the
catheter
ablation
bit of the procedure (5th Dec) hopefully he will stop the apixaban, and discharge me.

Catheter ablation for PAF
I had my
catheter
RF
ablation
yesterday. Was as nervous as hell after reading all the blurb they sent me months ago but decided on balance to go ahead as it is a progressive condition and the worse it gets, the less likely ablation will work. Anyway, arrived at 08.00 and was second in the queue.

Minimally Invasive AFib surgery in Tokyo with Dr Ohtsuka
I really did *not* want a
catheter
ablation
. Saul G from this forum was my introduction to the work of Dr Ohtsuka, so I am deeply grateful to this forum, and to Saul for guiding informing, and supporting me throughout. I feel great and I am SO glad I did it.

rogue beats
I had a
catheter
ablation
on Wednesday. Up till now, I was not really getting many problems with my heart, but since early this morning, I’ve had quite a lot of episodes of missing heartbeats, some go on longer than others and it feels like my heart is going to stop.

6 months post ablation
My husband is 59 and had a
catheter
ablation
in March 2023 for paroxysmal AF. He's off all his meds and apart from sporadic AF in the first few weeks, it's gone really well. We just have a Q.

Ablation trade off?
I haven’t been on any AF meds but am scheduled for a
catheter
ablation
in two weeks. I’m still very active and don’t notice the AF much except for some general tiredness. Since ablation destroys some heart cells, I’m afraid it may do more harm than good to my ability to stay active.

Distended stomach & abdomen after ablation
I had my 2nd
catheter
ablation
4 days ago under Gen Aanaesthetic; the ablation, plus cardioversion, seems to have gone well (allowing for it being very early days) and the groin wound is healing well.

Catheter ablation - information video
Wish I’d seen this before I had an ablation last week. It’s highly informative about the entire process, the equipment that’s used and potential outcomes. If I had watched this I may have felt a little less daunted by the amount of huge screens and equipment in the cath lab and the sheer number

Cryoablation time! (Sorry folks, has since been cancelled!)
I got back from a fab day out with a friend yesterday and there’s a message inviting me for
catheter
ablation
this Friday! Just spent an hour cancelling an entire holiday - travel, car hire, hotels, holiday let, stay with friends ….and feeling so heftily disappointed- but it has to be done.

cardiac ablation good experience
hi everyone, I have just had my cardiac
catheter
ablation
for my ventricular ectopic beats ( I have a very high ectopic load) It has gone well and I was really well looked after by the team . In case anyone is waiting for their ablation thought it might be helpful to share my experience.

Mini maze update.
And my EP said I wasn't suitable for
catheter
ablation
and said my best option (and only option) was a mini maze with Mr Hunter so he referred me across to him. This was back in Jan 2023. I saw Mr Hunter in late March 2023....so didn't have to wait very long really.

afib ablation question
hey everyone, recently a family member had a
catheter
ablation
done. They fixed 4 areas and a flutter. back story: has had afib for 2 years and is 63. Had cardioversion done the beginning of this year and it worked for 5 days then back in afib. Had ablation done 2 weeks and 5 days ago.

Alternative to Anticoagulation?
Just a case history for now, but apparently they have done a Left Atrial Appendage (LAA)Closure during an RF
catheter
ablation
procedure, guided by 3D printing technology!

Suitability for catheter ablation?
When asked, my GP told me that
catheter
ablation
is not really done for Atrial Fibrillation.

Outcome of a staged hybrid convergent ablation
First stage, a surgical
ablation
already done on 15 May and the second stage, a
catheter
ablation
will be done in 3 weeks. After the first back to persistent AF and still there. I am still hopeful though that after the second ablation I will be back to NRS and maintain it for a long time.
