Cataracts

Hi, I was wondering if anyone else has gotten on Actemra and tapering down off Pred? I had been diagnosed with PMR 4 yrs ago at 54 and more recently GCA. Had trouble bumping down Pred w/out markers going up, got down to 2 mg. but had to bump back up, ending up at 15mg again. Started on Actemra in March

I was convinced I had cataracts. My mom had to take me to the eye dr. Guess what? I did not have cataracts at age 8. Lol. That has been my whole life!!!!!! If I get an ache in my arm.... I automatically think the worst!!!! It is a constant struggle!

My hearing has been effected, my eyesight has been damaged (I now have retinopathy & cataracts), my diabetes appears to be permanently uncontrolled, and my blood pressure consistently high.

I have just read Jim's post about his wife now on 5mg prednisone and reducing having had Actemra. I am in a similar position having been diagnosed with large vessel GCA in November 2017 although with symptoms for at least 9 months prior to that. I too am down to 5mg prednisone ( I was on 100mg daily

Hi All, Well oedema returning so 4 th implant planned. Doc says as long as I have some positive response then we can continue unless IOP or other factor becomes an issue. I am now officially chronic ( & cranky lol). Regarding cataract - firstly my friend got her situation wrong. It's not her cataract

Has anyone suddenly got cataracts on both eyes? Is it caused by prednisone or PMR?

The eye surgeon said steroids from the lung cancer treatment, pneumonitis, and my inhalers all probably sped up the development of the cataracts as did the Tamoxifen for the breast cancer. The good news is that they can’t affect the implant.

Hi, to cut a long story short , I came off Bisoprolol 3.75 a month ago and asked GP to go on Nebivolol as others seemed happier on it, GP not happy , he said Nebivolol which I had read good reports on was not heart specific , only used for people over 70 and not as good for AF and mild AV regurgitation

To be told that I have cataracts in my eyes 👀 cause by the steroid treatment I have been having for my ITP!! So far this condition has cost me a job I loved, my mobility and now my eye sight !!!!

I was told that my cataract surgery had nothing to do with causing my dry macular degeneration to bleed and turn to wet in both eyes.
