Diagnosed dry age related macular degeneration in November 2017. Progressed to wet AMD by December. Vision in right eye declined to 20/80, Left eye OK. Got injections every 5 weeks, vision improved to 20/25 but is not the same. I have to employ peripheral tilting to read chart. Started Areds in February and went back on Statins. I have high HDL cholesterol, considered a risk factor in AMD, even though it is the "good" cholesterol. Doc says my improvement is in the top 5%, so I have much to be thankful for. As for dieting, I control blood sugar to a maximum of 135 by dietary choices, resting glucose usually in the mid 90s. I'm 6'1" and 202 pounds.
