Palpitations back
Hello everyone I had a
cardioversion
on 27th December last year. I was in permanent AF when I had it and it stopped straight after. Since then I have had 2 episodes of AF which have lasted 24 hours or more. Does this mean the
cardioversion
failed? Wondering what will be next. Thanks

Cardioversion
I had a
cardioversion
last year in Wythenshawe NHS cardiac unit which put me back in nsr. The staff were brilliant - professional and their attention to detail was very reassuring. Stupidly I was careless taking my meds (dronedarone) and I've flipped back into af. I am really struggling.

Relative in ICU
He received a
cardioversion
yesterday, and has been in and out of normal sinus rhythm since. His ventilator has been knocked down from 80 to 40%, and the magic number to get him off the ventilator is 30%. The doctor said it looks a lot like pulmonary fibrosis.

Ablation and drinking alcohol
Meds and 3
cardioversion
in as much time. Biggest thing for me has been lifestyle changes. Dropped about 10% of body weight, exercise regularly, and cut way back considerably on all forms of alchohol. With a few periods of months totally abstaining.

ABLATION PLUS 4 WEEKS
Being very sedate since
Cardioversion
in December, then ablation in February, I have been doing some thinking (not wise I know but just cannot help it).

Cardioversion
got SR back and been ok since (4-5 months) but on medication. Changed lifestyle (No alcohol, less stress, reduced strenuous exercise). Feel tried, headaches, and get little sleep which can perhaps be blamed on medication but apart from that function ok.

Is it ok to fly while waiting on cardioversion.
Hi. Have had 2 open heart surgeries replacing 2 valves in 2000 and 2011. During a routine appointment I was found to have gone into AF again and will be cardioverted soon. Meanwhile we want to book a holiday from N Ireland to the Canaries at the end of March.....is it safe to fly?

I'm now worried that I will need a
cardioversion
to get me out of this current AF and privately that is extremely expensive but I dread to think how long I will have to wait on the NHS. I get so scared being in AF all the time. I am widowed and live alone.

Mind games
The feeling was not quite like a
cardioversion
but the euphoria is significant. Not quite the relaxing Sunday evening I had hoped for. Pete

Could our Waistbands be the Cause?
Incidentally, after my
cardioversion
, 7 weeks ago, I've been wearing dresses as much as I can and haven't had one attack. The last two previous winters I was in constant AF.

Don't know what to do.
The EP explained about
Cardioversion
but also about the stroke risks and the fact that the enlarged left atria might not help. i am at my wits end.

When to see GP
Looks like I have gone into Non sinus rythym just 6 weeks after
cardioversion
. I don't feel too bad apart from feeling heartbeat pounding a bit and numbness in right arm. I never know whether or not to bother my GP, any advice?

Any one else in their 20s or 30s with Af from drinking?
The
cardioversion
worked and I felt instant relief. The next day, they put me on Xarelto 15mg 2x daily, Carvedilol 12.5 mg 2x daily and captopril 12.5 mg 2x daily. They kept me till the next morning to see how I reacted to the meds then discharged me.

Need a smaller dose of Levothyroxine after 5 years?
Anyway to cut a long story short, had to have a
cardioversion
under general anaesthetic to restore my heart to normal rhythm and rate. Was put on beta blockers and anti coagulents, but beta blockers had horrible side effects so have come off them.

Back in NSR after cardioversion ?perimitral flutter?
Good to be back in NSR. Not so good; the EP study showed my flutter was atypical and requires a more complex ablation than there was time for on Monday; or, to come home to a very poorly partner who required hospitalization due to an infection. On the plus side my heart stayed in NSR throughout many
