Post cardioversion bloating fluid on lungs and infection

I had a successful cardioversion a week ago however I’ve felt terrible since. I had low HR 43 and low BP after the procedure. Hours later my tummy started to bloat and I felt intense pressure in my chest, my weight shot up by about 10lbs and I had pain in my shoulder and diaphragm.

This persisted for nearly a week so I visited my GP she sent me to hospital, where after lots of tests it was established that my HR and BP was fine, but I had fluid buildup and a chest infection. I was producing blood streaked sputum and felt really ill.im now on water tabs and antibiotics and I’m slowly starting t feel more comfortable.

Why did this happen post cardioversion ? I was expecting to feel better not worse.
