I also requested carafate after being symptomatic to coat my esophagus and prevent an ulcer. I am on a bland diet for the next month to also protect my esophagus. No mention was ever made of this to me.

Went to the urgent care and basically got told nothing we can do for you but here try Zofran and Carafate it may or may not help go to a gi specialist and ENT. And no one can tell me why my wbc is slightly elevated like am I sick with something or what, this is hell.

I take my acid blockers and added carafate and protoxix to the mix. Has anyone experenced this? What did you do to help?

It's also possible it's caused by one of the supplements I added recently, or possibly the carafate I started again for my gastritis. (I've had this before on many occasions with no trouble). Just curious is anyone else has experienced this.

I was put on Carafate 3 times a day. I try to take it for breakfast , lunch and bedtime. So right now I am taking protonix then I wait 30 min then I take carafate. Wait an hour then eat then wait another hour to take medicines . I take medicines morning and with dinner.

I have tried antacids, Carafate, and hyoscamine . Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated .

I’ve been on protonix and at times Carafate . Everything was going fine until I got the Covid vaccine. First I started with gas, bloating and stomach pains. Then my Gerd started acting up and I started with this horrific upper abdominal pain that lasted about 30 mins.

They did routine blood tests said I had AR and gave me omeprazole and carafate and sent me on my way. My blood tests indicated that my lipase levels were 14 points below normal (59U), my AST was 2 points below normal range (13U) and my ALT was elevated by one point above the normal range (30U).

Also, I am taking Protonix and carafate I think is taken to heal esophagus. I would love to hear your experiences with meds after your ablation. Please describe your experiences with all the meds? I was not aware beforehand of all the medications I d be taking.

I just had mine done and am finishing up a 7 day dose of carafate that I guess coates and will heal my stomach lining. My understanding is that the PA caused this inflammation so I am wondering if I should follow a low inflammation diet? Has anyone else heard of or done this?

I saw someone in my doctors office who gave me dexamethasone and carafate mouth rinses. They did nothing. I saw my dentist, who was completely puzzled and sent me to an oral surgeon, who put me on methylprednisolone 6 day pack.

I'm on Pantoprazole and Carafate to coat my stomach before eating anything. Lately, I have had nausea, and stomach pain at the top right side. My Gastroenterologist retired and so my PCP referred me to another one.

I don’t see the GI until Wednesday but my primary care gave me Nexium, then Prevacid to try with Carafate. But I find myself still nauseated with acid sitting at my throat by the middle of the day making it hard to work. I’ve started having panic attacks again.

I went to urgent care two days ago and they’ve switched my Meds to Prevacid and Carafate. And even though I’m responding much better I have become scared to eat anything and get nauseated at the thought of eating all the things I used to love.

I was prescribed Carafate and Dexilant after the Endoscopy, both did NOTHING. I was referred to the Mayo Clinic, where I was told that I had Post Infectious IBS and Functional Dyspepsia, both of which are general diagnoses, and a fancy way of saying "We have no idea what's wrong".

They gave me carafate to take and then followed up the GI and he told me that it was not my stomach that was hurting my underneath my ribs and sent me to my rheumetologist who gave me protonix to take and has helped so far.
