Ever since I got my gall bladder out I ended up with Gerd . I’ve been on protonix and at times Carafate . Everything was going fine until I got the Covid vaccine. First I started with gas, bloating and stomach pains. Then my Gerd started acting up and I started with this horrific upper abdominal pain that lasted about 30 mins. I went to the ER and they did a CT . It showed a dilated common bile duct and liver enzymes elevated. So I went to the gastro they said it’s most likely Sphincture of Oddi. Does anybody have any advice concerning as to how to deal with the pain of SOD and what kind of diet to follow ? Would digestive enzymes with ox bile help ? The Dr. gave me Hyoscamine to take which has helped a little but made my Gerd worse . Not sure what else I can try ! Any advice greatly appreciated .

Your case is a complex one. so have to experiemnet very slowly and singlularly.
If you notice oil layer in your tilet bowl after toilet or urination (not froth) this can indicate difficulty digesting fatty foods. Ask GP for Creon prescription for the issue with pancreas. This may help reduce cramp in stomach after eating fatty foods etc.
There seems to be unverified correlation between covid symptoms and IBS type symptoms. My wife had digestion issues after she contracted covid and slowly its getting better. The occupational consultant's advice was to be on plant based diet as much as possible. This seems to be helping greatly, for both of us to help after the covid induced digestion issues.
While you having the issues of digestion try to aoid any fatty, fried foods, including lots of heavy to digest. it will take a long time to fix the digestion.
Also visit opa.org.uk website for acid reflux and gord management with diet and reciepes et al. the booklets can be printed and if you are in the UK you can ask for these posted to you if you dont have printer.
good luck.
