does 12.5 mcg make much of a difference ?
i decided august 2023 to increase my dose from 75 to 100 on my own based on symptoms and results TSH 0.27 - 4.2 R 1.17 FREE T3 3.1 - 6.8 R 4.49 FREE THYROXINE 12 - 22 R 16.7 but I became over medicated, symptoms and bloods to confirm. On 75 I was experiencing quite obvious strong hypothyroid

What causes subclinical hypothyroidism?
My brief history: Diagnosed subclincal last year and have felt persistently awful on all doses of levo (25-75mcg) and 75 pushed my t4 slightly too high. The side effects of it have been debilitating and in many ways I feel worse taking it. 25mcg puts my t4 at around 18 which seemed high for a tiny dose

bizarre turnaround
hello! I posted here about a month ago complaining of lots of issues; dry skin, falling out hair etc, irritable, over emotional. My TSH was 0.8 and lower range T3, ok range T4. Since then I’ve lost 5lbs (diet and exercises) started taking vitamin b complex, vitamin d and a general health vitamin

changing from Armour to levo
Hi all I take armour thyroid and have done for over 10 yrs now. I was originally prescribed this by a private doctor but further down the rd I found a way to buy Armour myself so I self medicate. I test my levels regularly (probably every 4-6 months) and I’ve felt in a good place for years. That’s

Hypothyroidism
Hello, I haven’t felt like myself for over a year, started with acid reflux, swelling of hands, feet, eyes and cheeks then itchy skin, fatigue, slow movement, low mood. GP agreed to do blood test, nothing came up except high cholesterol. GP prescribed statins for high cholesterol, antihistamine for swelling

Yearly endo nonsense
I've given up ranting, this just seems to be yearly confirmation of what we are up against (sadly most don't get as far as Endochrinoloy. My GP surgery recently asked me to confirm my Levo dose? They prescribe it each month so is it compliance? I replied 150mcg Levothyroxine and 10mcg Liothyronine (I've

Recent bloods .. help
Hi everyone Been having problems over years on levothyroxine , think conversion low . Decided to see private endo for t3 supplementing as nhs would not prescribe . Since December 23 , he lowered my thyroxine dose which was then 125 /150 alternate days but I was having most of the typical hypo symptoms

ATM gene mutation
I just received results from genetic testing that I have a ATM gene mutation. I am currently not on any meds and my last PSMA pet scan was negation. I am scheduled for a follow up PSA test mid march based on rising PSA after 5 years undetectable. Based on the ATM finding will this change any future therapy

Strange Results
Hi, I was diagnosed with PA in 2013/14 and was given injections for a while but that stopped a good few years ago. I had tests done via Endo a while back and they said my levels were fine despite no injections/supplements. I had tests done in May 2023 and the active b12 came back as high. It showed

Help Interpreting Results
Hi. Can I have advice on results? These are from a while back for anyone who has read my recent posts. I was on 1 tablet of T3 a day at this point. I previously had high thyroid antibodies but the LDN I take seems to have lowered them to be in range. I was wondering if the same has happened with pernicious

The use of thyroid hormone liothyronine in patients with heart failure - Another Pearce-linked Trial
Fascinating seeing these words in the context of a medical trial:
The use of thyroid hormone liothyronine in patients with heart failure
Liothyronine (T3) is a safe tablet and has few side effects because it is a synthetic version of triiodothyronine, a naturally occurring hormone

TSH and T4 raising on medications
Hi Initially, my TSH level was 8 mIU/L (normal range 0.4 to 4.0 mIU/L), with T3 and T4 within normal ranges. Upon starting a 0.25 euthyrox (T4) dosage, my TSH surged to 18, coinciding with the onset of mild discomfort in my rectal area, which I suspect may be hemorrhoids. Despite a dosage increase to

I am about to go to the doctors in an hour to speak about some blood tests I had done last week. To me the results are on the higher side. From what I’m reading most doctors don’t like to do antibody tests and t3 and t4. How can I persuade them to do these just to check my levels? I had lots of other
