Advice on supplements & iron panel and selenium /zinc tests
Hello is anyone able to interpret my latest iron panel result? I have been supplementing with 150mg of iron bisglycinate and 1 ferrous fumarate tablet daily before this test (stopped 1 week before). With iron of 74% through range is this too high or can I continue? My ferritin result is only 54 (or

At my wit's end with GP
I just don't know what to do next. Back in January I had a bad time with anxiety. I called my GP after talking to the mental health team on 111 as no one else would listen. It certainly got a response as my GP spent nearly an hour on phone with me. During that phone call she persuaded me to try coming

I take my Levothyroxine 1st thing an hour before food but not sure which are suitable foods to eat for breakfast
I’ve read in the Role of Vitamins & Minerals in Thyroid Disease leaflet, that taking iron at the same time as thyroid hormone will bind with some of the thyroid hormone & block it’s absorption. Also, fibre & calcium carbonate if taken simultaneously with thyroid hormone, may also interfere with absorption

Calcium supplement recommendations
Looking for recommendations for a calcium supplement that I do not need to take more than 4 pills for and is not crazy expensive. Or a combo of supplements that would work well together. I am 59 years old and have Osteoporosis in hip and spine. I am presently not taking any medication. Thanks!

Migraine/IBS link?
Does anyone else experience a worsening of IBS when their Migraine headaches are in a better phase? All my life it seems that I either have one or the other in a bad state. I would rather be in an IBS phase than a migraine phase, but either is very disabling! Lately I have started on Flunarazine ( a

Is this as good as it's going to get? I'm new to this forum and infact it's the first time I've dipped my big toe into such waters.
I woke this morning feeling particuraly horrible which is now the new norm but today I wasn't able to endure another day of just getting through it, so I thought I'd share a bit of me for some of you empathic folk out there. My story begins about 7 years ago when I took myself to the GP feeling extremely

Xgeva & Calcium Question?
Dear fellow MBC’ers: I started Xgeva injections quarterly 2 years ago when I was initially diagnosed with MBC in my left pelvic bone. The oncologist nurse told me to take 1200mg of calcium a day while on Xgeva. She said it helps Xgeva work. In April my oncologist gave me my last quarterly Xgeva shot

Pain remedy pack - does yours look like this?
Hi my lovely pen pals! You know what? Our section here for Q&A often reads like purgatory. Lots of us land in when we're at our lowest. But, things can get better. So, I wanted to share what's in my "pain remedy pack" because.... Drum roll, I went for a walk at normal speed and didn't have to slow or

Doctor's /endos thyroid /parathyroid knowledge
Hi everyone ❤️ I suppose this post will be a rant on just how little doctors /endos know about our conditions, and how for some of us it's a struggle to just get them to listen to our concerns, I've had several calcium levels of.. 2.61..2.67..2.89.2.75..2.67 and the last one done 1st Feb 2.80..range.

Vit.D absorption.
I've just had my latest blood test results back and everything is within normal parameters again. However, despite taking Calci-D (1000mg calcium & 25mcg/1000IU Vit.D) my vit.D level is apparently on the low side of the normal range. (58 nmol/L) Normal range on my results sheet is set at 40.0 -250.0.

Bisoprolol
A cocktail of Bisoprolol and flecanide over some years gradually wore me down, enter Diltiazem, a calcium channel blocker, and the old me returned! Worth looking into. It might just suit.

Fasting morning of blood test
Firstly, thank you all so much for being here! Reading this forum has given me the encouragement to go back to my doctor rather than give up at the first hurdle. I have a blood test booked at the surgery for 9.20 on Monday. I'm quite happy to delay my Levo till after, but missing breakfast is likely
