Dear fellow MBC’ers: I started Xgeva injections quarterly 2 years ago when I was initially diagnosed with MBC in my left pelvic bone. The oncologist nurse told me to take 1200mg of calcium a day while on Xgeva. She said it helps Xgeva work.
In April my oncologist gave me my last quarterly Xgeva shot because he said I shouldn’t be on Xgeva more than 2 years.
Do I still take the calcium supplements? If so, how much, how long?
Thank you for any insight you can provide!

I would want to know your blood work results for calcium and vitamin D levels - they test mine as part of my monthly labs now that I take Xgeva - my Calcium tanked this month so they spread my Xgeva out to 12 weeks instead of 4 and told me to take more calcium. Do they test your calcium level?
Thank you for your response! My calcium is checked monthly & right in the middle of the normal range. I don’t get my vitamin D checked so I will request that.
