Hypoparathyroidism - Advice Needed
I was started on
calcichew
and calcitrol (calcium and vit D) and my calcium levels have continued to drop since starting the medication and I am having hypocalcemia symptoms. I have low PTH, low/normal calcium and low phosphate (strange as if calcium is low, phosphate should be high).

Swollen puffy red eye lids
Fultium 3200
calcichew
d3. Detailed in a previous advice post. Any ideas if the eye symptoms and feeling awful run down could be auto immune related? Or just a coincidence? I'm always worrying about her. She won't see GP or ask to see endo as it's always no use no diagnosis they contractict things.

Unhelpful phone call with doctor
- I thought we took
Calcichew
with vit D and had extra yogurt to help with our bone strength! Luckily the plumber, who I had waited for for several days, arrived, the dog was going nuts so had to end the call. I think I might have said something I might have regretted had he not turned up!

When to take medication?
I normally take Lansoprazole about 7 - 7.30 am, breakfast about 8am with 5mg Pred,
Calcichew
about 12am before lunch, then again about 9pm, then Simvastatin about 10pm. No problems.

Calcichew 500mg tablets are different sizes in container...
I've been taking
Calcichew
500mg tablets for years. Recently, I discovered my new (latest) container of
Calcichew
tablets were different sizes. Larger ones (those I'm used to) mixed with smaller tablets. Should I be worried?

Stuck with worsening of CFS symptoms and no help
(My usual Dr sends me results after I asked for Parathyroid, and vitamin D as I am bedridden, and I had the symptoms of secondary hyper-parathyroid, which she confirmed and prescribed
Calcichew
), I had no vit D, and para's were stealing calcium from my bones, she said, and it does hurt!

Increasing my pred - didn't!
We didn't discuss PMR with my daughter only to say I have changed from Calceos to
Calcichew
so now I drink and eat anything anytime so less problems for me. (Last time we were there Calceos and Lanzoprazole were taken at wrong times as meals changed at last minute).
