vitiligo around the eyes. 8y old girl
Hi there Very excited to join. My daughter has two skin conditions. She has this little white spot since 2017. It disappeared in 2018 and comes back around this year. The spot now is getting bigger and spreading around her knees feet. Seen by many specialists and they confirm its vitiligo. I disagree

Platelet count high and B12 deficiency
One of the main reason of high platelet high count is B12 deficiency and if it's not treated by taking B12 specially injection can cause heart attack due to blood clot. There is also a link between vitamin d deficiency and high platelet count. High platelet count also can be alarming for some cancers

Fed up doesnt even cover it
HI fellow sufferers, Ive been on pred since March, reducing v slowly from 15, now down to 12. Under hospital care who want me to swap AA to risedronate. Im cautious about doing this because they both seem to have the same side effects. Have been taking the weekly AA for 5 weeks now , was fine at first

I don't know what to do now?
Back in July, after a routine blood test, my Levo was reduced from 175mg to 150mg because my T4 was too high. I had a further test 7 weeks later and my T4 had gone up slightly. I posted my results on here and was advised to have some private blood test to check on Vits etc. My dear mum became very

Vitamin K2
I’ve started taking vitamin K2 as I already take Accrete D3. Just wondering if I should take them together or separately. I read somewhere that you should take Accrete on it’s own as it interferes with other tablets but wondered if this is different as they work together?

Confused
After having a compressed fracture L2 six weeks ago without a reason I got a Dexa Scan my results are -2.7 thigh and -4.8 spine. My GP prescribed Alendronic Acid tabs and Accrete D3 and Calcium. He then changed his mind on the Accrete because the x-ray I had which discovered the L2 fracture said there

Vitamin K
Hello out there! I’ve been unable to get a doctor’s advice or even a comment on the wisdom of taking vitamin D3 with vitamin K2. I read on Google (!) that D3 ensures the absorption of calcium while K2 directs calcium to the bones and prevents it from depositing where it shouldn’t eg arteries, organs

Help for a friend with corticobasal degeneration.
Dear forum friends: I have a friend who has been diagnosed with corticobasal degeneration. I can't find much specific information about this atypical parkinsonism. Except for Dr. Costantini's reference in the famous interview (number 30) or the comments on medical cannabis oil, I can't find any information

Started Levo and wondering when I might start to feel better - any supplements I need to add?
I finally managed to get the GP to try me on 25mcg Levothyroxine, which I have been taking for just under a month now. My results before starting were TSH - 5.91 (0.34-5.60mu/l) Serum free T4 - 10.2 (7.9-20pmol/l) Serum T3 - 6.2 (4.00 - 6.60pmol/L) I have also stopped eating gluten, and am also taking

Constipation and magnesium supplements
Has anyone got constipation and hard stools problems in hypothyroid / Hashimoto? Stools are very hard despite a good diet and fiber consumption. I only take vitamin D3 and Calcium 400 mg, should magnesium be added to my diet, if so, which one and how much? My hip density bone scan is 666, not so good

Supplements, nootropics, vitamins, herbs: how do they interact? which are not compatible, which work synergistically and timing?
Sept. 7, 2021: I’m adding this preface. Thank you for your responses! I did not anticipate this! Please do not have expectations of my efforts culminating in anything that is not very basic, already known by most people on this forum, or more than what is easily accessible on the internet. I use

Starting investigation - Blood Test queries..
Hi! After my first post I managed to speak to a GP and mentioned to them that my most recent TSH was elevated (5.63) along with other stuff and he agreed that at the least I have subclinical hypothyroidism and agreed to do more bloods including a cortisol test to check for Cushings due to my symptoms

Prednisolone/Vitamin D3 timing
I’ve been suffering symptoms of PMR since June 2020 and started treatment in October 2020. Started on 15mg Pred and now down to 11mg - reducing by 1mg every 6 weeks. So far so good! Following original advice from GP I take all medication at 8am with breakfast - this includes Pred, Vitamin D3, Omeprazole

Would Adding 10,000 IU a day of D3 would be a good thing to complement my Niacin 250 mg a day? Maybe NOT
Sometimes I'm Stupid. This is a re-write of my post extolling the virtues of vitamin D3 based on misreading a study and thinking down was up and left was right. I would just delete it but some people have seen it and I want the correction to be here. This is the trial from 2016 that had me excited:

How I've Been Handling PV
I highly respect this forum and the sharing of experiences. I would like to share my experiences. I have had Polycythemia Vera for over 15 years. I am 79 years old. I have taken HU a few times when my platelets rose to 1,500,000.I am a firm believer that food is medicine and do not take medication unless
