Chose SBRT over brachytherapy, but is long term survival the same?
I am second guessing myself now as my brother also has Prostate Cancer, and his doctors telling him that
Brachytherapy
(In his case LDR) has a better long term survival rate. For those people who have undergone radiation therapy, what did your doctors tell you about long term survivability?

I’m New Here!
There is no”standard of care” treatment that works reliably with this cancer, so I selected
brachytherapy
and Care Oncology off-label treatment with Metformin, Atorvastatin, doxycycline, etc. I changed to a mostly plant based diet and learned about supplements like EGCG, curcumin and ginger.

Full body rash after treatments - related?
His treatments have included
brachytherapy
, ADT, and about 30 radiation treatments. He finished the radiation therapy in early August and is still on ADT. After he completed radiation, he broke out all over his body in a bumpy, itchy rash that WILL NOT go away.

I am leaning towards radiation or perhaps
brachytherapy
as it seems the survivability is the same as those and surgery and it seems like the side affects are less.

New to this forum: SBRT or Brachy to minimize chance of ED?
Reading some of the posts on this forum, I get the feeling that HDR
brachytherapy
has less chance than SBRT of causing ED, which I would very much like to avoid.. The NCCN Guidelines recommend either EMRT+ADT or EMRT+brachy+ADT, but not just brachy+ADT.

I’m also going to a local oncology center to discuss

Feeling the pain
Last November I had three short courses of
Brachytherapy
following a hysterectomy for womb cancer. I thought all was going okay but began to have rectal bleeding. To cut a long story short I had a flexi-sig and transanal ultrasound done today. For the first time I saw the issues.

brachytherapy without radiotherapy for endometrial cancer.
I have been offered radiotherapy on its own or
brachytherapy
on its own. My understanding is
brachytherapy
has less side effects on bowel and bladder. Has anyone any experience of this they could share?

New guy here!
Started Lupron and bicaltumide today and in 8 weeks will do 28 EBRT sessions followed by 2 sessions of HDR
brachytherapy
. Committed to6 months of ADT but we’ll see how everything looks then. Could end up with more.

New guy just looking for information as I start this journey.
The treatment plan right now is Lupron and bicalumatide then in 8 weeks start 28 days of EBRT and then 2 sessions of high dose
brachytherapy
. My bone scan didn’t show any spots and I don’t know what the MRI will reveal. At this point the Drs. think it’s confined to the prostate.

boost (BT) to external beam radiotherapy (EBRT) have been shown to improve various oncologic end points.

Brachytherapy, IMRT, Nanoknife or Active Surveillance
Professor Stricker stated that due to 80% volume in two core samples and 5% in one other I should consider Low dose
Brachytherapy
, IMRT or Nanoknife. I’m Gleason 6. MRI PIRADS 4. Now rather then feeling happy with my decision of Active Surveillance I’m feeling a little concerned. Last PSA 5.4.
