UK or US Functional doctors that prescribe NDT
Hi everyone, I was wondering if any of you knows of any functional doctors specialised in the Thyroid in the UK or US. Since they work with clients all over the world, it probably doesn't matter where they are based. I bet in the US where they have more competition, some have more competitive prices

History of continued low and fluctuating iron levels - advice?
hi folks. Just had my latest bloods back from helpful GP (he’s actually happy for me to sort my thyroid with Roseway! TSH barely exists) My iron is pretty abysmal tho .. Last time i had my transferrin saturation index done it was 40% so bang on mid way. January I think it was. It’s now dropped to19%

Synthetic Thyroid Meds just not suiting me

Trying to interpret my results
Hi I was wondering if I could ask some advice regarding my latest results. I've just had bloods done so anticipating the usual conversation with my GP about my TSH being too low.... I've screen shot my results since 2015 basically as I've been tracking them as my TSH rarely changes, even with a reduction

Coeliac-related thyroid problems
My 15 year old granddaughter has thyroid problems(hypo) associated with her having coeliac disease. Her condition is monitored (TSH is currently 5) and it seems to be a case of "wait and see" and the thyroid may correct itself. I understand this but the symptoms of feeling unwell, low energy etc from

Trial of eConsult service
My GP practice has recently launched the eConsult service where it said I could get the results of tests etc, so I tried it. I asked for the results from a recent blood test, and gave the date and time. The one that was supposed to be just vitamins. I had one email back saying the request would be

Private Test Results
Hi I've just got my private test results and would like to know if these are ok. The test was only a cheap one so don't have any vitamin results. I have been taking T3 1 x 20mg for 2 weeks now and although my GP said I should have a test after 6 weeks, I decided to do a private test. The main reason

Liothyronine (T3) or NDT without a prescription
Hi, I’m currently taking levothyroxine but I still have hypo symptoms (tiredness, feeling cold, dry skin, etc.). My most recent test results show that everything is in the correct range, but my T4 is at the high end of the normal range while my T3 is in the bottom third, so I’d like to trial a medication

Thyroid patients suffering
Not sure if this has article has been flagged before, but I found it interesting. I was surprised that they estimate thyroid problems affect 1 in 20 and still we struggle to get any help. https://www.abdn.ac.uk/news/17040/

NDT and NHS blood tests
Hello everyone, I'm just curious about NDT (I'm using Armour) and its status within NHS. I understand it is not a licensed medicine here. I asked my GP practice if they would be happy to provide me with blood tests to monitor my bloods, however I got a phone call from admin stating they would not

T3 (Cytomel): How would you fit it in these results? Or would you? And all the mistakes I have made on this journey
Latest results (overjoyed to be finally here) - TSH .74 (.32 to 4) T4 14 (9 to 19) T3 4.2 (2.6 to 5.8) I am on 262.5 mcg levothyroxine (Note: In 50s so 50×5 & 1/4 of a 50) I feel what I would deem pleasantly okay. Always have felt the best on NDT, but I needed so much I could no longer afford it. And

Avoid prescribing desiccated (natural) thyroid extract
The NHS England Specialist Pharmacy Service advice re desiccated thyroid has been updated. Doesn't make much difference! But in case you are interested or need to know, it is linked below. Note that it does NOT say desiccated thyroid
cannot
prescribed. It still contains this bizarre sentence
