Bile acid malabsorption

Anyone on here have bile acid malabsorption if so wat medication are yous on and do yous get really bad stomach pains even though on medication as I have bam on colesevelam but still get horrible stomach pain I have ibs aswell and docs are saying it's overlapping eachother watever that is supposed to

I also have several other health conditions, including type 2 diabetes (insulin controlled) and severe bile acid malabsorption. I have multiple symptoms, and it is difficult to know which condition is causing which symptom! I have recently developed very watery eyes, and sore, chapped lips.

I am having a bad attack of Bile Acid Malabsorption at the moment and am virtually housebound by it! Any help would be much appreciated 🙏

I have PRD - bile acid malabsorption however recently I have had recurring UTIs. Ended up in hospital on IV antibiotics. they said the bacteria I have is unusual. The antibiotics I’m on at the moment are causing huge gastro issues. But I can’t seem to clear UTI.

Got diagnosed with bile acid malabsorption over a year ago terrible pain before and after bowel movements that lasts a good few hours seeing a different doctor at my surgery he said he could be the bile salts aggravating my colon so i have to up the colesevelam to 2 a day instead of 1 if that dont help

I have ibs and bile acid malabsorption I have had stomach problems for years colprotin is on 113 I had a ct scan done over a week doctors rang yesterday with results came back as thickening of stomach linning now doctors have done urgent referal to gastroenterologist and probably will have to have endoscopy

I went to see the Haematologist for an assessment for a second iron infusion as I struggle to absorb iron orally with hypothyroidism, pernicious anaemia, and bile acid malabsorption. My first iron infusion was a year ago but prior to this I was iron deficient for decades.

I’ve got severe bile acid malabsorption, fatty liver disease and elevated triglyceride levels. I’ve also had a small bowel MRI which shows an atrophied pancreas. Does lipase from the pancreas play a significant role in breaking down the fat in the liver?

I do have severe Bile Acid Malabsorption which is mainly associated with bile acid seeping into the colon rather than the blood stream.

I got diagnosed with bam over a year ago taking colesevelam for it i take 1 or 2 a day but it has my bowel movements all over the place its all or nothing and usually in a formed mush and sticky i try to eat healthy but just wondering if any one else has bowel movements like this i have ibs aswell and

Colitis or maybe bile acid malabsorption. I’ve joined a lot of groups and never read a full description other than saying they go x number of times a day. Is it all at once. I’ve joined groups for all sorts of bowel diseases but my initial cause is pelvic radiation.

My cholesterol has gone to very good this month as I have just been prescribed Colestyramine for Bile Acid Malabsorption which has caused me problems for years. Now I have chest pains which I thought was indigestion. Mainly at night and the pain wakes me.

I've had my gallbladder out three years ago and my consultant said it could Bile Acid Malabsorption too. I won't be having a sehcat test as apparently I've been told that they can prescribe binders and if they work then it means you have BAM. Thank you did reading.

I have very problematic and symptomatic ibs and now i have severe bile acid malabsorption and i have arthritis msk i get pip for my msk and have just done a renewal for my pip i have put everything down about my bile acid malabsorption how it affects my daily life ,anyone on here gets pip for the bile

I have somewhat neglected my hypothyroidism over the last couple of years to concentrate on my more recently diagnosed Pernicious Anaemia, Bile acid malabsorption and atrophic gastritis.

As my digestion issues slowly worsened, I was referred to a gastroenterologist who, after a SEhCAT test diagnosed 99% bile acid malabsorption, probably secondary to radiation enteropathy.

I have Bile Acid Malabsorption, does anyone know if this affects thyroid symptoms? Ferritin 291, TSH 159 Thanks

Hello, 4 years ago I had a sechat scan and the results 2.7% which indicates severe bile acid malabsorption. The problem is my main symptom isn't diarrhoea i do go to the toilet urgently with diarrhoea but normally only once a day. I have severe tummy pain and bloating.

I got diagnosed with bile acid malabsorption in January this year i am on colesevelam for it the thing is i have lost nearly 3 stone in weight since over the last year is this normal with bam ,i have a gastroenterologist appointment in November so mayb get some answers as my stomach is still not right

I have been tested for everything include bile acid malabsorption, Sitz marker studies, capsule endoscopy. Trust me the lot. Nothing is found , to the doctor i am the healthiest man on the planet. Their only concern was the substantial weight loss due to not eating.
