Bicalutamide

I am now thinking to add Finasteride to Bicalutamide plus degarelix injections. Would/could it help me if on the psma pet scan my only visible cancer is in my prostate?

The RO wants me to start on 14 days of Bicalutamide tablets, then 3 monthly injections of Eligard. So I have a few questions; 1: I remember someone mentioning on this forum that monthly injections are easier to tolerate compared to injections every 3 months.

Treated with Bicalutamide and Zoladex injection until rise in PSA 18 months ago. Increasing PSA from 6-12 on chemotherapy through last summer. September he was put on Xtandi which unfortunately gave him horrible side effects and we had to stop.

PSA initially at 137 Lupron every six months Bicalutamide worked for about 8-9 months Moved to Xtandi to avoid steriods due to severe glacoma stopped working at 4 months Radiation to the back. Xtandi just failed, PSA has been doubled over 8 weeks and then over the next 4 weeks.

Doctors at the hospital recommended the following: IV Decadron 4mg 4x/day which started on 1/3' Bicalutamide 50mg once a day for 14 days Lupron after 2 weeks No surgeries due to his age. He is high risk for paralysis. He set up an appointment with an Oncologist for 1/15.

Lupron twice a year, Bicalutamide, failed at 7 months, Xtandi failed at 4 months, currently on Zytiga. We met with my dad’s oncologist on 4/24. My Dad’s PSA dropped from 2.47-1.46 and pain has been improving.

My MO prescribed bicalutamide and avodart after my 20 rounds of SBRT. My PSA went up to 21 after the SBRT. The bicalutamide I understand. I am leary of the avodart. I am concerned that it will mask PSA rise from cancer. Any thoughts on this?

It will most probably be Zytiga but I have read that sometimes in the past Bicalutamide (Casodex) was added to Zoladex for certain time in similar cases. What's the general opinion about that nowadays?

Before and after radiation therapy, dad was taking Bicalutamide 50 mg and Alfuzosin50 mg together with a quarterly Leuprorelin injection.

Started Bicalutamide 30th August 2023. 1 tablet x daily. Ended 19th September 2023. Started Contiflo XL 24th August 2023. 1 x daily. Ended 22nd September 2023. Hormone Implant called Zoladex LA 10.8mg 6th September 2023, 1 x 3 months. Standing Enzalutamide 4 tablets daily. 19th September 2023.

Hi allCasodex (bicalutamide) 57% for driving down PSA Lupron 87% BUT........ maybe for an individual would it be worth trying to see if casodex tablets worked better for driving down PSA instead of the lupron injection????

One month Firmagon (synergy with the SBRT) followed by six months Bicalutamide since he says that is as efficient as Firmagon for low-volume metastatic disease with less side effects. SUV max for the two mets is 27 and 35.

It had previously been creeping up and I am not currently on any treatement since my Cyberknife to a lymph node in December 21 together with 6 months of bicalutamide. I take a large variety of supplements but c 3 months ago I added 60mg (6 capsules) of Prostaphane a day.

After my 40 treatments, I wanted to get off the bicalutamide I had been on for 2 months. My breasts had not only gotten enlarged but they had also become quite painful, and the Tamoxifen my RO had put me on did not help with this.

He was treated with palliative radiation and a hormone blocker bicalutamide, steroids (that was for about 3-4 months), and a shot he takes twice a year.  First hormone blocker was great and we got about 8 months out of it. 

lupron and bicalutamide for one month. PSA dropped 300/33 testosterone dropped 650/20. Then another month of treatment.(no PSA yet ) Five days ago stopped bicalutamide and added Zytiga. Sexual interest/function seems to have returned. Is this coincidence or an issue with meds??

My dad received the following Biopsy scores a few weeks ago and since then he started bicalutamide (6/25) and had his first Lupron shot (7/10). And we are currently awaiting results from his PSMA PET scan. Based on the following Biopsy scores, what do you think is next?

In March 2007, his Orchiectomy was done, and he was put on Bicalutamide 50, for 2 months.

When checking on my order today with OptumRx, I was told they had no Bicalutamide and didn’t know when they would be resupplied. Maybe now will be time to take my first vacation. My PSA continues to remain <.02 with minimal side effects.

He has had lupron, xgeva, bicalutamide and now he is on Xtandi. Dads last bone scan psa were July 8th. His bone scan showed stable osseous metastatic disease and his psa was 1.1 which is low for him.
