2 years post viral meningitis
Hello, It’s been just over two years since I was first diagnosed with viral meningoencephalitis and I finally feel like sharing what I can remember from my story. Please bear with me as I am still confused about a lot and don’t remember much of my experience from the hospital. Doctors were never able

Choline and Betaine & total and lethal PCa in the Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities (ARIC) Study.
New study from Elizabeth Platz (Johns Hopkins) [1]. Most here will be aware of choline from PCa imaging (18F-choline-PET/CT, 11C-choline PET/CT ...) or eggs (one yolk has about 115 mg of choline, depends on the size). If PCa cells have a hunger for enough choline to make it a viable PET scan tracer,

Ketamine
I’ve been seeing things saying ketamine is given for depression relief. Has anyone used it ( under a doctors supervision, not as a club drug)?

Hi there, I posted my results before Christmas when I was on 150mcg Levothyroxine and got some excellent advice here. I subsequently went gluten free and have been taking vitamins and supplements (D3, K2, B12, magnesium sulphate, Betaine HCl and digestive enzymes). I then persuaded my GP to increase

"DNA methylation in development and disease: an overview for prostate researchers"
New paper [1] that discusses PCa hypermethylation & (reversible) epigenetic changes. I have been interested for a dozen years, after vitamin B12 injections caused PSA to rise. But researchers seem slow to pursue this. Most will want to skip the full text. But here is a snippet that touches on diet

ECT didn’t work for me!
So I thought this was going to be the ticket to getting my depression under control. Well unfortunately it wasn’t the answer for me. I like and trust the doctors who told me to try it and I was very ambivalent about it as I’m sure everyone undergoing it would be. I was even inspired by the 60 minutes

Need Help
I have had both types of stimulators implanted over a three year period. Neither has worked. I have had all kinds of injections, even internal (vaginal) which were so painful I couldn’t continue. They worked for a few days. My Dr wants me to undergo in hospital Ketamine treatment but my insurance

Help Assessing Results - Low T3, Low Folate
Hi all, first post for me, and what a wonderful and supportive forum this is. So happy I found it. I’m hoping some of the experienced thyroid analysts could come out and offer their thoughts on my blood work. My Dr. flagged a few things, among which was low T3, and low folate, and said some conventional

KETAMINE STILLS PARKINSON'S
Neuroscientist Torsten Falk's research indicates that the anesthetic ketamine eases dyskinesia in rodents and also in five Parkinson's patients who were already taking it for pain relief. Repurposing ketamine for dyskinesia could get it to patients quicker. It's already been safety tested at higher doses

Seeking input on effectiveness of ketamine or TMS therapy; does it work for OCD?
TMS = transcranial magnetic stimulation I have had OCD for 17 years and CBT and medication have helped in the past, but symptoms remain. I am always looking for better ways to improve. I cannot get any doctors or therapists to consider ketamine or TMS. I wanted to see if anyone has had any success,

Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency
I have PA. Like many of you I have been struggling with digestive problems. I take Betaine HCl and a digestive enzyme with each meal. I developed pain right between my chest and in my back and shoulders. GP Ordered an elastase test and it came back as low 120 in a range where 100 to 200 is moderate EPI
