PMR or PsA or both
I'm on prednisone since last April and have managed to get down from 35 to 10 mg with a few minor flares. My Rheumatologist thinks it could be PMR or PsA or both. Can't get a definite answer. It started overnight after a fall I had. Now I wake up really achy all over and after about an hour feel fine

what now failed R223
‘what now’ failed R223 My husband this week because of low Hb 83 had a blood transfusion + iron infusion. He has suffered ‘Proctitis’ rectal bleeding since having radiotherapy 2019 and although complaining to Oncologist, GP, Gastroenterologist had endoscopy (found Barrett’s disease and has difficulty

Minor psa increase again
Just over 12 months since adt finished. All clear at <0.01 2 months ago when it started to rise to 0.03 then 4 weeks later 0.05 now 0.07. Have Dr's app in 3 weeks which will probably be a referral back to oncologist. Do we need to wait until 2.0 then a PET scan or can I be proactive now? My adt was

Dental Issues with Finesteride
I am 7 years post full gland HIFU surgery. Quality of life remains good. I've been off ADT all this time. PSA has been slowly rising and hit 2.8. My urologist put me on finesteride. It prevents the conversion of T to DHT. Five weeks after starting on it I experienced an onslaught of dental problems.

xtandi failing?
In September last year my PSA was 0.06. Three months later PSA was 0.09. I asked my doctor if xtandi was failing. He told me not necessarily, once your PSA reached its lowest point, it tends to go up and down before it settles down. He told me they would check my PSA in six weeks, six weeks later

Can Nubeqa (Darolutamide) be used instead of normal ADT drugs for localized PCa?
Hi all. Australia has just given the green light to lower the cost of this so-called wonder drug from a staggering $40K (AUD) to a low $30. It seems that this drug has fewer side effects than the usual ADT drugs and from what I can gather does a pretty good job of preventing the growth and spread

Importance of ADT
Are there any good outcomes without using ADT ( hormone therapy)? I delayed it for a couple of years with bad results. My history --
2021
: Age 78. PSA was 7.79, Gleason 4+3=7. Small lesion in prostate, with perineural invasion. Had 20 IMRT for prostate. No ADT.

Phase 1b: FOR46, a novel antibody-drug conjugate targeting a tumor-specific epitope of CD46, in combination with Enza in patients with mCRPC
"Preliminary anti-tumor activity was observed with PSA declines in 13/16 (81.3%) of evaluable pts, and a disease control rate (stable disease ≥ 6 months) of 41.2%" But side effects could be very hard on heavily pretreated patients https://ascopubs.org/doi/10.1200/JCO.2024.42.16_suppl.5066

Should I do chemotherapy?
New here. I am 81 and was diagnosed last month with PCa metastatic to a few bones. Gleason 9. PSA 21 at diagnosis. Have been put on orgovyx and xtandi. Chemo was not mentioned. Reading some posts here I wonder if chemo would be an important option for me ? I will turn 82 In a few

CRISPR: hopes and research
I will keep you posted, also because it's a very fascinating technique that could potentially solve many health problems (and of course be used for evil...but that's not CRISPR fault, it's a fault in our brain!...which obviously CRISPR cannot fix!) UK Cabazitaxel/Carboplatin availability
I have a fairly urgent decision to make regarding my treatment. For the benefit of our US warriors, the UK National Health Service means that the overwhelming majority of patients do not have private healthcare insurance. I'm one of those. Now, with the decision to switch from Docetaxel to Cabazataxel

Dad's PSA now 1800..nothing works..Is this the end??
Hey all, It pains me to write this as I'm probably scared to hear the truth. I've posted a few times, but this time, it's different. Dad was in hospital for a spinal cord compression - new activity on c3, new mets to spine and PSA soaring to 1800. Those dreaded words, "all options have been exhausted

Does orgasm return post-ADT
I’m into my third month of ADT and have completely lost the ability to orgasm. I am LIVID. I was NEVER told of this side effect. In fact, I was told I’d likely have ED but orgasm would still be possible. Which is an outright lie. Has anyone had the ability to orgasm return after discontinuing ADT or

Docetaxel and Carboplatin
I’ve been on the PC journey for 12 years. I’ve had lupron and all the standard “poisons” that we get, including Pluvicto. My PSA is now up to 99.5. I have bone mets in my lower back and sacrum w periodic pain that’s controlled w pain meds. My oncologist is recommending a chemo concoction of Docetaxel

EBRT - Is it the right thing and what to expect?
After DX in November 2018 with Stage IV and Gleason of 5+4 and 4+5, and 5 years of ADT of Lupron (then Orgovyx), prednisone 5mg, and Zytiga 250mg with low fat breakfast, my PSA stayed stable at 0.4 or 0.5. At end of 2013, PSA started rising to latest value of 0.84. Had PSMA PET Scan March 5, 2024

Brachytherapy boost HDR vs LDR +/- ADT
A bit of my background: 50 years old, Gleason score of 4+3, a PSA of 11, decipher is low, and possible extracapsular extension. 1) I know what LDR and HDR do, but what are the differences in terms of their long-term side effects? 2) Should I include ADT for a better outcome and what percentage improvement
