Best approach to reducing Dyskinesia
I was diagnosed with PD 6 years ago. I'm currently taking 6 Stalevo 100mg each day at 6am, 8am, 10am, 1pm, 4pm, and 6pm. I also take Resageline 1mg.Over the last 18 months I have seen an increase in Dyskinesia, mainly later in the day and usually worse as the meds wear off. My Neurologist suggests

I have been shuffling my feet lately when I am walking, however otherwise I am doing fine. I have had PD since 2005. I take 3 tablets of carbo / levodopa, 25 - 100mg, 3 - 4 times a day, I never take C/L after 5pm and I take Amantadine., 3pm, 5pm &7pm which controls the dyskinesia. I get plenty of exercise

Neck pain caused by dyskinesia.....
About 6 months ago, my dyskinesia started getting worse, and I noticed I was starting to get a lot of neck pain. I went to a neuro PT who said she thought my neck pain and stiffness were being driven by my dyskinesia and that I needed to reduce the dyskinesia before we could improve my neck. So I tried

Is high dose thiamine therapy effective for people not taking levodopa?
Hey! My friend was diagnosed with PD ten years ago at the age of 30. They are not taking levodopa because of the severe hallucinations it causes. I was looking for alternatives to traditional treatment approach and found the HDT therapy. I'm currently reading "Parkinson's and the B1 therapy" by Daphne

Hand tremors
I was diagnosed with PD a few months ago although I had a hand tremor on the right side for one and half years ago. My hand tremor gets better during mid week usually Wednesday and Thursday, and gets worse after that. I don't take any regular medication as C/L and Amantadine didn't work for me. So I

Parkinson’s and eyes
Yesterday, I had an eye test and my vision has improved. This is great but I spent a lot of money on some new glasses last year because my vision and had declined. I have poor eyesight and wear complex lenses. Looking at the times of each eye test, last years was done first thing in the morning and

PD Effect on Sleep
“My wife had trouble sleeping due to restless legs and being awakened by vivid and disturbing nightmares. Fortunately, this condition seems to have been fixed with a prescription from the neurologist. The clonazepam pills have all but eliminated that problem.” —ED C., PARKINSON’S CAREGIVER It is common

Steroids to treat Parkinson's
I was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2018, and recently I started having dystonia most of the day. I had been taking 2 tablets of Carbidopa.Levidopa 25-100 every 5 hours. At first, it helped me, but not now. It seemed the drug helped for about an hour then I would have the shaking and dystonia again.

Hello all, I haven't been posting much. But I'd appreciate your advice. On Friday, my husband was going about his day, had driven to the grocery pickup, got home, and then started to have small hallucinations (ants that weren't there) and vomited. He texted for me to come home from work, and in the

Amantadine : is it Neuroprotective? Can it reduce glutamate excitoxicity?
Anyone taking amantadine? It may be slowing progression. Looking in to means of reducing glutamate excitoxicity which is shown to increase decline, I happened upon the knowledge that Amantadine, is a NMDA receptor antagonist. What I have read so far suggests that Amantadine is indeed Neuroprotective

Any advice about weaning off of levodopa and starting amantadine.
I have developed dyskinesia and doctors tried reducing levodopa thinking I was getting too much but dyskinesia persisted.

First of all, i would like to write this update after i have been rechecked by the doctors in Switzerland , which was supposed to be in the beginning of January, but due to COVID restrictions, i wasn’t unable to fly. I’m hoping to fly during March, but it’s always unexpected. After a year, i can say
